In summer this is one of the places to be, take a swim in the Limmat, get some food, play beach volleyball, meet people...

It's lovely to swim in the Limmat river, anywhere really; in this part the water is very calm, you can even swim against the current if there isn't a lot of water. A lot of hipsters hanging out, tattoo show, loud music and younger kids on the right river bank, calmer on the left river bank (Panama).

If you love to swim in a river and enjoy an international atmosphere this is a place for you! A funny and happy hippie place. You may choose to stay in the open place or go to the part reserved for woman only. There is a restaurant on which server a typical "kiosk" menu, so you will suffer hunger after... More

We spent 2 nights in Zurich and we went swimming both afternoons. It was great! We were overheated and tired from traveling and touring. This swimming/floating was just what we needed. The water was cold at first but we got used to it in a couple of minutes. Don't be intimidated by the party side in the right side. Go... More

I was staying in the Continental Hotel Zurich, it was 30 Celsius in Zurich, it felt like a sauna whenever I left the A/C hotel... I said to the charming receptionist: what a pity you don't have a pool for a hot day like this... We don't need it she said: WE HAVE A WHOLE RIVER FOR YOU! 5 minutes... More

Loved this flussbad! Completely unexpected and unprepared we came across this flussbad (river swimming pool) when walking along the river. We had no swim wear: but fear not: they rent out shorts and towels. To swim along the stream of the river was a great experience. And if you don't like swimming in (ice) cold water: the look of it... Who jumps off a bridge into dirty water and floats in the fast current to the end climb out and walk back to the bridge and do it all over again. Oh wait the local Swiss people. Some people appeared to use the current to swim against for exercise it was quite funny watching them. People just lay on concrete... More

This is so popular that it is crowded. It used to be the area of the famous needle park back in the 90's. Hard to believe now that this place was full of junkies at that time. It was a railway station originally which was not in use. Today it has a few bars, beach volley, cycle paths and the... More
