Burkliplatz Square is a dock and the starting spot for tours on Lake Zurich. The site is also the venue for a great variety of events. The vegetable market Burkliplatz takes place here on Friday and had visited the same as also the flea the next day
on Saturday . The square is also the starting point and finish line of many athletic events.

We had amazing boat lake tour on Lake Zurich. They have long and short lake tours so you can choose. We saw a lot of ducks and swans on the lake, beautiful homes along the lake and beautiful fountain. It was very relaxing and beautiful boat ride.

After a walk down the Bahnhofstrasse we ended up at the picturesque Burkliplatz, a park plaza laid down in 1882-87 under direction of town engineer Arnold Burkli (hence its name). This plaza has bences where you can sit and take in the views of the Alps in the distance and the azure blue Zurich Lake in front. Well worth a visit when in Zurich.

This lovely town square is by Lake Zurich and the promenades. We were fortunate to visit on a day that there was the fruit and vegetable, flower, and cheese market.

Buerkliplatz is a Square in Zurich, which is located at the junction of Limmat River and Lake Zurich. It is arguably the best spot for clicking photos of Lake Zurich. Several cruises are available for cruising on Lake Zurich at this Square. Worth visiting.

As you take the tram down the Bahnhofstrasse, it bears left to go over the Quailbrucke. As it turns there is a tram stop named appropriately Buerkliplatz. This area along Lake Zurich is a quiet park with a popular kiosk selling fast food sandwiches, sausages, etc. You can also walk out on the pier and board a tour boat around Lake Zurich. Not a top attraction on your list, but you will probably see it in your travels around the city.

Right there, at the lake, at the end of a boardwalk, catch the water taxi. Take it for an hour ride around the lake and river or use it hop off and on transportation at any of the stops the boat makes. And inexpensive and fun sightseeing excursion or as a taxi along the water way. Great time!

At this site you can catch a boat for short or long trips on the lake and you can reach Buerkliplatz by only of the many trams. At my visit there was a large market with among other fruit, vegetables, cheese and flowers.

Each time I come back to Zurich, I love getting up early and going down to the fresh food market.
And enjoying the view down to the lake to the mountains. It's fun. Clean. Lots of variety. Fresh flowers. And delicious bread, sweet things, fish, cheese and salami.

There is a flea market here on a Saturday until 5pm. The selection of items was similar to a car boot sale in the UK and not particularly clean.
