It is a funicular carriage over a short distance. We had gone with somewhat higher expectations, but in a country full of funiculars and cogwheels and ropeways, this turned out to be a whimper.

Even if you have no special reason to go to the upper terminus (nearer Universities etc) its worth the few minutes ride and back, or you can walk back down. Note the service finishes at 7pm.

It is very exciting to travel along the rails, up and down. It seems as the sun would shine and the rain would rain.

The polybahn is a must when you are in Zuerich. It is a short ride from the base up to the university, and it takes you back in time. Definitely recommended.

This little funicular, takes you up the hilll to the University. Students have been taking this for ages. This is a historical funicular. When you get to the top, enjoy the view of Zürich from the University Terrace.

Took the Polybahn up and down from Central to University and back. Helpful staff guide you to buy the right ticket from the ticket machine as this can be a challenge. Short trip in a well maintained train. Definitely worth the about 3 CHF.
