It is very exciting to travel along the rails, up and down. It seems as the sun would shine and the rain would rain.

The polybahn is a must when you are in Zuerich. It is a short ride from the base up to the university, and it takes you back in time. Definitely recommended.

This little funicular, takes you up the hilll to the University. Students have been taking this for ages. This is a historical funicular. When you get to the top, enjoy the view of Zürich from the University Terrace.

Took the Polybahn up and down from Central to University and back. Helpful staff guide you to buy the right ticket from the ticket machine as this can be a challenge. Short trip in a well maintained train. Definitely worth the about 3 CHF.

It's a short ride up and down to the ETH campus. It is a funicular railway that is it works on a principle of gravity and a pair of counterbalancing tram-like like vehicles using cables, riding on a steep slope.

Much faster and way more comfortable than trams to reach Polyterasse from Central. Takes less than 5 min and runs every 5-7 minutes. Keep in mind that it stops for the day at 19:30.
