If art peaks your interest, you'll have plenty to see at Kunsthaus Zurich. On my most recent visit to Zurich, I allotted time to visit Kunsthaus. There is everything from Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Rousseau to Warhol and even many of Giacometti's famous Diego Head sculptures at this museum. There was also a special exhibition for Ernst Ludwig Kirchner on... More

Although it was mid-April, it was rather cold and windy, so our decision to visit the Kunsthaus during our 1-day trip to Zurich was further justified by the weather. Fortunately the Museum did not dissapoint us. It was a great experience. To begin with, we bought the basic ticket (16 CHF/person), there was an extra charge if you wish to... More

The museum covers a series of periods and styles, which for art lovers is a "can't miss". The amount of detail in many of the paintings is captivating as it was easy to simply stare and gaze for an extended period of time. A recommendation for the museum is clarification of packages as there was a gallery that was inaccessible... More

I'm struggling to think of a better museum in Europe covering mediaeval to contemporary art. I was truly blown away. The focus is more on the modern side but some fine old master pieces including an excellent Dutch golden age room. The modern section is unbelievable. A whole room of Chagalls; seven stunning late van Goghs (plus one out on... More

There isn't a lot to do in Zurich, but this museum is one of the places you should go. Paintings by Picasso, Van Gogh, Matisse, and Monet. Even a work by Salvador Dali.

The Museum of Art has the most wonderful collection of European art in a magnificent building. It is wise to allow plenty of time to see the free permanent collection - we were enthralled that we did not have time to see the other exhibitions that were on at the time. The building itself is deserving of close attention -... More

As expected the collection focused on Swiss artists but not to the exclusion of others. I by passed the old masters to see Chagal, Rauchenberg, Miro etc. Good representation of other artists though few of each as would be expected. It is a place to put on your list of sites in Zurich.

Stopped by primarily to see the biggest Munch collection outside of Norway. Extremely surprised by a very well done special exhibit on Kirchner and some gems in their permanent collection -- especially by Chagall, Picasso & vanGogh. The one Rembrandt is also stunning.

The special on Kirchner was amazing. Really well laid out and provided a good background. The main gallery was excellent, especially the modern art section. Some of the stone work in the older part of the building is exquisite.
