Excellent venue for a fair collection of lesser known works.

A beautiful building with it's collection laid out perfectly. It needs a guidebook not just a one page map though, so you can find particular works of interest. While most of... read more

This is an attractive gallery space with an excellent selection of Warhol Moore Giacometti micro Kandinsky etc but would have liked to see a few more contemporary pieces dramatically displace

A beautiful building with it's collection laid out perfectly. It needs a guidebook not just a one page map though, so you can find particular works of interest. While most of the 'usual suspects' of artists are represented, most of the works are much less well known. Which is wonderful, although you might want to read up ahead a time...... More

I enjoyed the museum for a bit of timeout. The temporary exhibition and contemporary art sections were my favourite. Entrance is 24CHF and includes an audio guide of you wish. Can easily spend a couple of hours in here.

Though not the largest collection, everything was tastefully and impeccably arranged, with each area a core thematic purpose aimed to enhance the experience. Audio guide (free) on point, with tasteful arrangement of artwork of various genre and era. Best thing is, free entry on Wednesdays!

On a sunny Sunday morning I went to visit the museum and the Ludwig Kirchner exhibition. It's so easy to get there (3 stop from the main train station with tram number 3) and the place is extremely well organised. Lockers for free, cafeteria with ample seating available indoors and outside. Museum shop a tiny bit expensive. The rooms are... More

This is relatively large art museum exhibitions showing paintings by very many artists. There are lots of works by famous artists but frankly speaking most of the paintings are maybe not among their master works.

Not very big , not very small but fantastic collection of paintings. Impressive,a high spot for people that love art. It is not on the main walking routes but it is very close to all main sightseeings.
