This beatiful theatre , as the Phoenix rose again after the flames. In 1889 it was destroyd by flames and in 1891 was finished what we can see today. In this theatre , Richard Wagner represented for the first time the Parsifal.

The Zúrich Opera House has been the home of the Zürich Opera since 1891. It also houses the Bernhard-Theater Zürich and the Zürich Ballet. Currently (July 2020) the house is under renovation, so difficult to get closer to the building. But the Sechseläutenplatz just in front of it provides a lot of space to the impressing building.…

This was to be my 4th ballet ever, so I am not a regular Opera house attendee. I bought tickets for Messa da Requiem because it was playing the weekend that we were in Zurich. I thought it was a ballet but it was more of an Opera--with ballet. I had never been to an opera but it was excellent. I enjoyed watching the ballet dancers as well but they seemed to be more of an add on to the story. We had "less expensive" seats in the top balcony but the view was still great as this is a relatively small opera house.…

Great production (Cosi fan tute), beautiful setting. If you like opera try to fl this in your schedule. Really worth it!
