This 12th-century cathedral has both historical and architectural significance: Ulrich Zwingli led an important sect of the Reformation from here in the early 1500s, and the cathedral's twin towers serve as perhaps the most recognizable landmarks in modern Zürich.

The Grossmunster is a large Romanesque cathedral, with a sparsely decorated interior. There is an impressive organ, and the stained glass is modern, but done in varying styles. It is a bit difficult to appreciate the windows, but a wander will allow for this. The...More

I was not entirely impressed with the inside of the church, but the view from the towers is certainly worth the climb!

An austere and beautiful church. Wonderful place to retreat to in busy Zurich. Or to go to listen to beautiful music. Great organ.

The Grossmunster is a beautiful but austere Protestant church and the most visible and recognizable Zurich landmark. Located on a small hill just above the river, it is probably the best example of what happened to Catholic churches with the Reformation - the imposing architecture...More

Definitely worth the 4or 5 francs to climb the tower here. Beautiful views of the city, the lake and even the Alps in the distance. The stairs are not for the faint of heart, however. In the church itself, be sure to check out the...More

Worth a short visit to appreciate the windows and if you have the energy, climb the many steps to get a good view from the tower.

You can't take photos inside but you can visit the towers for a price. Quite beautiful inside with some simple rather then extravagant decorations. Very peaceful place to sit, contemplate and look around despite the number of tourists constantly milling around.

We loved having this in many of our photos. The inside was a little bit crowded however. Maybe it was the time we went but it somewhat took away from the atmosphere. Other than that, it was great

Located in the heart of the city, Beautiful olden days doors with carvings and historical. We made a short visit and took pictures of this nice church from outside.
