The Cathedrale is the crown jewel of the Old City or La Cité of Lausanne and is considered to be one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Europe. It is right in the Centre and so it makes for a very nice part of a walk about the downtown area. I highly recommend it. If you look online... More

Magnificent Cathedral with beautiful stained coloured glasses. A jewel from the Past. A must-see visit of the large old city.

The church is huge, imposing and is located in a hill that has a nice view to the city. However, inside it`s just ok. It worth going there, but lower your expectations and enjoy the view.

The catedral is a very pure early gothic style, very harmonious and perfectily restored, a visit is a must. And the nave is very impressive. Also the stained-glass-windows are beautiful.

This was a great quick stop in Lausanne. I would recommend a visit here for sure. The church was beautiful and had free entry. The belfry tower does cost money and we did t have time to make the climb up. Perhaps next visit.

At the top of Lausanne but you can get there on the Metro. Enjoy the large rather stark stone interior which contrasts with the highly colourful and historic stained glass windows. You'll see and possibly hear the large church organ, but can you find the much smaller and possibly hidden unusual two manual one. No entry charge. A great place... More

If you climb the Belfry tower, you can get the most breathtaking views of Lausanne! Definitely an activity for a nice day. Also, entry to the cathedral is free and you can see the beautiful stained glass windows, but even entry to the tower is super cheap- only 3fr for a student ticket! However, there are a lot of spiral... More

An interesting cathedral: gothic bones with numerous changes well explained. The painted porch and Marian shrine were unlike any other I had seen. A full gothic rose window as rarely seen. Not as huge as Chartres or others, but very worth seeing. And, on the cold Winter day, blessedly heated.
