An absolutely majestic massif that stands proudly among many similar sized mountains. There are several taller mountains in the Swiss Alps, but none with a more commanding presence.

You can’t go to Switzerland without seeing the Matterhorn. Getting to the Matterhorn you can only drive as far as täsch then you catch the train from täsch to Zermatt and from Zermatt you can see the Matterhorn. There are so many locations to stop...More

The Mattahorn is a spectacular mountain located close to the village of Zermatt. The views of the Mattahorn from Zermatt are fantastic. The train ride to the mountain is expensive - but worth it.

See it at the town level in Zermatt, ride the cogwheel train to Gornergrat and/or ride the Gondola/Tram up to Glacier Paradise. All provide stunning views of this majestic peak.

Don't miss it. The best tour in Zermatt. Worth every penny of $100 ticket. If it is clear in addition to Matterhorn you see other peaks, Mount Blanc and Italian Alps. Take Glacier Paradise tour for a magical walk in the glacier. We even saw...More

The Matterhorn can be seen from Zermatt. To really see it, travel by rail to the end station, get out and walk around. There are great viewing areas, a hotel, hot and cold drinks, and food available. Walk down via foot path to a lake...More

What can be said about the Matterhorn that hasn’t already been said. It’s iconic! Being from Los Angeles, I’ve only ever known the Matterhorn at Disneyland. I can tell you that the Disney Matterhorn is an excellent replica of the real Matterhorn. However, Zermatt’s Matterhorn...More

We took the 2 gondolas long way to the Glaciers Paradise and that was the highest approach to the Matterhorn. Unfortunately, often the clouds and winds won't cooperate and you might not be able to take the picture from that... More

We were only able to go to Zermatt and see the Matterhorn. It was raining and cloudy the day we were going to go up to Jungfrau. Was disappointing. It was good to see the Matterhorn. If you are staying at Interlaken to... More
