Fantastic skiing, service, food et.c.. Absolutely everything is excellent in Zermatt, altough it is indeed quite expensive. The skiing is fantastic but it does get quite crowded. If you want to get first tracks on powder days I recommend Cervinia on the Italian side where you won't have to fight as much for it but it is a bit less... More

Go early in the morning to take the first cable car up the mountain in October. Slopes turn to slush mid day. If snowboarding there are flat areas on the slopes so you need to have the ability for speed when riding.

We enjoyed the variety and quality of slopes in Zermatt Cervinia region. My only concern was an absence of railing or guards some very narrow areas, but it's a common situation in Europe. Otherwise it's an extremely nice place to ski and enjoy some hot wine at multiple cafes and restaurants on the mountain. Will come back in a blink... More

Perfect to ski in Zermatt as pre season. We had fantastic days with sun and nice groomed sloops. Not so crowded and zero skilift lineup. I recommend to take the fist lift up about 08.30.

Very well maintained snow routes. Very convenient access to the ski areas, and many ski areas with a lot of ski routes. The season lasts for 6 moths.

Came to this resort around April. Still snowing up the mountain, but some routes were closed. I loved this place. You never get the chance to board or ski next to Matterhorn in plain sight. So beautiful!!!!! Rentals in Zermatt can be costly so try to bring your own gloves, goggles, clothes. Board and shoe rentals can cost up to... More

The best place in Europe to summerski. But be careful. If you want to go up the mountain and buy a ski-pas they charge you both: 100 SFR for the ride up and 82 SFR for the skipas. They will NOT mention that the ride up is included. Even not on their website.

If you need to ski or snowboard during the summer, this is the place. Weather is sometimes sketchy, so at the hotel concierge's recommendation, we waited until the day of to rent ski gear, and rented at the gondola station in Zermatt, just to make sure the mountain was open. Phenomenal views, not too crowded. Need to get there early,... More

I waited a long time to ski here and it was worth the wait. The skiing was great. the weather gorgeous, the snow perfect and the the people super. If youget tired of the Swiss side just go to the top and ski down on the Italian side. But remember to take your passport. It is my favorite spot to... More

I visited this area last February. The village of Zermatt has grown since my last visit in 1983, but it still retains its Swiss charm. Cars are prohibited, so arrival is via train and electric taxi carts and horse drawn sleighs (in winter) meet each arrival. The skiing in the paradise area is excellent, especially for intermediate skiers. Snow was... More
