We visited in January and were able to ski and snowboard but as is always the case, it is weather dependant and this year the snow was late... however the village is wonderful, the people really helpful and our stay was great fun. The only downside is the cost, but this is Switzerland...

I'll write another, better review about Zermatt, which is absolutely terrific. Word to the wise through when purchasing good & services with credit cards. Most machines will read your card and ask if you want to pay in CHF or your cards home currency. ALWAYS CHOOSE YOUR HOME CURRENCY. I have a USD credit card. I purchased a good in... More

My wife and I had some time to spare in Bern so traveled to Zermatt to overnight and have a day of skiing around Matterhorn. So easy to get there by train and hire equipment ready for the next day. Although there has been very little snowfall for weeks, the skiing was superb and we were thrilled by our last... More

When we go skiing in Zermatt, we travel 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours to get home in the evening: IT IS WORTH IT! Absolutely great ski arena in the high alps, under the stunning Matterhorn

We spent 8 days from 20-28 Dec 2016. It was our first time in Zermatt. Years before we were in other places in the same region. We really regret that we have not come here before, everything was just great: nice, interesting train ride with beautiful changing sceneries when you come from Zurich airport, very good and new ski lifts,... A first class ski resort with snow guaranteed With Plenty of intermediate pistes. Unfortunately very limited nursery slopes for the first timers.

We visited Zermatt the week between Christmas and New Year's. I've wanted to go here for over 20 years and am so glad that we went as a family. It was incredibly expensive, but I'm happy we did it. Relative to the skiing in the US Midwest, it wasn't as good, but we enjoyed the overall experience. The town is... More

The jumps and fun park are excellently groomed! We had a whole week here and came most every day. Normally we ski off-Piste but there has been no snow for 7 weeks. Still we loved the beauty and surprisingly good conditions here. Saw people get hurt, but they need to learn to go over the jumps slowly first to see... More

I can't get over how amazing it was to ski here. This will forever be my "happy place." I visited in December and the last snowfall was in October or November. The trails were well groomed but there were patches of ice on a very small part at the end of the trail (which you won't hit until you're ready... More
