Everything would have been great. The photo of the eagle cost a whopping 50.-. They said they would send the remaining photos by email. Unfortunately, nothing has arrived yet. I was there on 17.9.23. Today is 19.9.23. But they said it would be the following evening. I am disappointed with the price of 50.-

The show was great, but exclusively in german language (italian is the official language of that region). Half of the customers didn't understand a word of the presentation, and they paid for it !

Our experience today was completely underwhelming, a total insult to people with a disability and thoroughly overpriced (CHF 68 for 1 adult, 1 pensioner and 2 girls under 10) This much money for a bird show that lasted 40 mins and consisted of a series of random and monotonous fly overs by a procession of birds of prey. The commentary may have been interesting but we could not understand a word of it as it was only in Italian and German. The website could be viewed in English, so we naturally assumed that at least some of the show would be comprehensible to us. Sadly not. I called the Falconeria beforehand, to tell them that my 9 year old daughter is severely visually impaired but that she does have some useful near sight. I specifically asked whether we could be seated somewhere where she might be able to get a few close ups of some of the birds and was assured that this would be the case. When we arrived 20 mins early, I explained to the man at the payment kiosk (who turned out to be both the main bird handler and the thoroughly rude manager as well) about our special needs and he referred me to the girl I had spoken to on the phone. She took us to the grandstand and, for some inexplicable reason, told us to sit on the lowest level. As the show went on, we did not understand anything that was said and also realised that virtually all the bird handling was taking place on the highest level bench about 8 levels above us. The website promised close contact with the birds either before or after the show (in reality this could only be enjoyed by those wanting to part with even more swiss francs) and we also saw absolutely no evidence of the free pony ride which was promised on the website as well. When I dared to complain after the show and suggested that a suitable gesture would be to refund me the ticket price for my VI daughter, the shockingly arrogant manager proceeded to shout at me and tell me that I was the first person to ever have complained about anything in over eight years. Pull the other one. The only light hearted moment we enjoyed was when my 75 year old mother said aptly to my daughters "Not to worry girls, these people simply deserve to all get stuffed!!".

Our family really enjoyed this bird show, even though it was in languages we do not speak. The show was in both German and Italian, but it did not stop us from enjoying the magnificent birds. The show included owls, vultures, a bald eagle, and a kara kara. The performers walked up and down the bleacher steps directing the birds to fly over the heads of the audience. We were brushed by owl wings more than once! The majority of the bleachers were under cover, which made it a perfect rainy day event. We even got to pet one of the owls at the end of the show. A must see with kids!

Locarno's falconaria is 10 minutes by taxi from the promenade. I have been to many zoos across the globe but this was the first time to see a falconaria. We saw many types of big birds, falcons, eagles, owls vultures and many more. The amazing part was the one hour show, a great experience, how these vultures are trained and controlled; I enjoyed it despite the Italian narration which I didn't understand. It's recommended visit for the whole family; the visit won't take more than 2 hours if you know when is the time if the show.

The main thing is the birds show (at 11:00 and 15:00). Some things worth mentioning:
1. We got stung by mosquitoes. Take the proper measures.
2. There is a little playground to pass the time after/before the show.
3. There is a small restaurant that serves sausages, hamburgers, pizzas, etc.
4. There is parking for free for the Falconeria's guests. It's behind the falconeria (a map of explanation is painted on the wall near the entrance).
5. There are great photo-ops during the show. Bring your good cameras

At first we were slighlty disappointed, we expected a much larger 'park' with more birds to look at. The park itself is really small; however, as soon as the show started I didn't regret spending 25.-
The show is absolutely amazing, wonderfully trained birds are flying directly above your the audience's heads and it's awesome how the audience was made part of the show. In addition, you could see that the birds are treated well, which is always important.
The show alone makes the visit worthwile, the park itself is more like a little bonus. ;)

The staff at my hotel had suggested it would be worth visiting, and they were absolutely right.
One starts with a visit to the aviaries, noticing immediately the wide variety of birds of prey from all over the world, all visibly being kept with extreme care and attention.
On each aviary, detailed explanations in four languages (Italian, German, French and English) about the birds inside.
But the moment when the visit to La Falconiera Locarno becomes exceptional is the falconeering show.
Done twice a day, lasting about an hour, im Italian and German (with French and English audio versions), the visitors are introduced to a very large number of birds of prey (falcons, hawks, ibis, marabus, owls, and even a true and true American bald eagle), getting closer to the audience than one would believe possible.
All accompanied by a detailed explanation about the individual birds stars of the show.
Rather than simply sitting and watching, the staff makes the show very interactive for the visitors, and are happy to assist with questions and information afterwards.
A truly recommended place to visit!

I do a lot of bird photography around the world. This is one of the best bird show's I have ever seen I sat in the middle of the grand stands and got good images of birds in flight. Wonderful for children. Nice bistro on grounds as well.
