The ride up the valley side in the cable railway was good, and when you get to the top, there is a small waterfall. It does fall many metres down the side of the mountain, but is not a spectacular waterfall. Standing on the bridge...More

A must for any Sherlock Holmes fan! The walk from the station ( passing the Sherlock Holmes Museum) was pleasantly breathtaking! It was a good 20 minutes walk, but with the snow- capped mountains surrounding you , sound of the water flowing from the river,...More

The little cog railway ride is fantastic and the falls are are just another waterfall. But if you are a Sherlock fan then a tiny star just above the green path on the mountain on the other side of the falls indicates where the Sherlock...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Does anyone knows if it's possible to take the funicular with a (well behaved, on leash, big size) dog?

I do not know. There were no dogs on our funicular ride up or down and we did not see any dogs on the trail.
We're going to be in Interlaken in October, after the funicular stops running on October 9, 2016. Is it still worth the visit if the funicular isn't running? Can we hike to the base of the falls? It the hike something an older couple could achieve? Is a visit to the Reichenbach Falls an all day visit or something that could be done in the morning or is it an all day activity?

Yes, you can walk up, and I guess it would take about an hour and a half to reach the falls from the railway station or an hour from the car-park. If you arrive by 9 you can be back in Interlaken for lunch.
How far is it from holmes museum How much time we need to visit both , just use funicular and dont climb up, and museum.
