Once you reach Mannlichlen by cableway from Wengen, there is a half and hour hike to the king's crown. The cableway people will tell you about that so don't worry ;). We were not hoping to see anything from the top as it was cloudy...More

Mannlichen is a smaller ski area on the Grindelwald side from Wengen. A nice variety of lifts and slopes, and ability to ski back to Kleine Scheidegg from here. Subject to winds and sunshine, this area can be preferable to other exposed areas, but it's...More

We arrived at Mannlichen via the large cable car from Wengen. After having lunch, exploring, doing the Royal Walk (stunning views) we returned on the little gondola to Grindelwald, a nice round trip. The views on Mannlichen are wonderful, particularly on a lovely clear and...More

We took the gondola from Grindelwald Grund to Mannlichen, which is the longest gondola/cable car route in Europe. Its a beautiful slow ride up the mountain. As you go up you hear the tinkling of the grazing cows' bells which is the most charming noise...More

Mannlichen is easily reachable by cable car. Once cable car arrives, the peak is 10 minutes of walk with 360 degree views. Plan on long day stay to have a better chance of clearing clouds. The surrounding peaks can be clear over time or by...More

This is a beautiful ski area with magnificent views. The runs have variety and are good for different levels of ski abilities. The gondola from Grindelwald makes it easy to access.

Family of six (children 6-16) went up the to mannlichen with the gondola from grindelwald, walked over to kleine scheidegg and then took the train down to grindelwald. A bit pricy (in comparison to other european destinations, though very acceptable in swiss terms) but the...More

Hi, We are arrive in Wengen on 1st July and just want a 2, 21/2 hour walk in the afternoon before we start the ‘real’ walking the next day. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would like to do the walk from Mannlichen to Kleine Scheidegg, pick up a picnic lunch, then walk from Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen to Lauterbrunn. Would these trails be open for walking/hiking the last week in April? A previous reviewer mentioned skiing and sledding in April, and another said that the trail was closed when he/she went in May because of snow?

1. I have heard that the views are much better in the direction of Mannlichen to Kleine Scheidegg. What do the people think? 2. Are there any nice romantic spots to sit and enjoy on the way? Thanks
