If you have the Swiss rail pass you can get there for free. Your pass includes the ferry to Vitznau, the mountain train to the top and the gondola ride down to Weggis and then the ferry back to Lucerne. This is a must do...More

We've done the whole Rigi trip 3 times before, but it always lures us back. This time we did boat to Vitznau, train to Rigi Kulm, train back down to Rigi Kaltbad, cablecar to Weggis, boat back to Lucerne. All covered by our Swiss Pass....More

It's about 2000 meters high, but you take the train, enjoy the ride up and then enjoy the surrounding. There are a lot of restaurants to have a rest

We visited this place twice, on a sunny day and a rainy day. They were both equally enjoyable. It's a short, easy ride and doesn't take up the whole day.

If you arrive early, take from Zurich Flughafen to Luzern (download SBB App for detailed transfer info), then take boat at Lucerne to Vitznau for funicular to the peak.

there is a toilet at the top right at the train stop. you do not have to go up to the restaurant.
