We rode the cogwheel railroad to the top and then went down one stop to a lovely restaurant. There was a blanket of snow everywhere. This isn't the highest mountain in the area, but in April it is the most accessible. The scenery is just stunning.

The place is my favorite and it is a must visit place if your are in Luzern. The entire trip to Rigi (Including ship ride, cable car and cog wheel train) is 100% free if you are holding Swiss Travel Pass. We took the ship ride to Weggis and then took the Cograil to Rigi Mountain The sound of cow... More

They say Joy is in the journey and this visit sort of proves that. The boat ride and the cogwheel train ride to Mt Rigi are so much fun. The mountain has great views but the best thing is the journey to Mt Rigi.

On a student educational trip we took boat from Lucerne to the mountain base than a cogwheel rail to near the summit returning by train and cable car. The views were stunning especially for my students from flat Florida, but even the students from Wyoming were enthralled. We hiked that few 100 meters by foot on a paved surface. Bring... More

If you want to escape the grey weather and enjoy a magnificent view then I can only recommend Rigi. You have a 360 view across several Kantons. Mount Rigi is easy accessible from Arth Goldau or Viznau, great for families, hiking lovers or couples. Restaurant, hotel and Spa resort are up there as well and nice events from time to... More

We took the boat till the mountain base and then the rail up to the top of the mountain. The view from the top was clear and we could see till far away. The view during the rail ride was amazing as well. The scenery was beautiful and the place was not crowded as well. It is worth the visit

The picture says it all. We had visited in oct 2015 and spent good 90 minutes up there. It was windy and cold, however the view didn't disappoint us. It is sooo scenic. Cant rave enough. We literally skipped a heartbeat when we saw the 360 view. It's a hidden gem. Not many people visit this one, but I would... More

Hi Thank you for your Feedback it is true Mt. Rigi is amazing. Rising to 1797 meters above sea level, Rigi Kulm is the highest peak of Mount Rigi. From here, you can enjoy a view of no fewer than 13 lakes and a regular “sea of peaks”, a 360-degree panorama that is truly the stuff of legend. Just board... More

We were lucky to get a beautiful clear sunny day in April when we went up to Rigi. There are multiple ways to get up to Rigi - boat, cogwheel trains, cable car, SBB trains. We decided with boat from Luzern to Vitnaz, cogwheel train up to Rigi Kulm, cogwheel train back down to Rigi Kaltbad, cable car down to... More
