We were so glad that we chose to start our vacation in Lucerne. The entire town is very beautiful and one can easily spend 2 nights and visit the mount Rigi from here. The whole town has a very relaxing environment and evenings get amazingly quite while you relax on a bench by the lake

You can spend a lovely 1/2 day or more wandering the streets of this old town center. Enjoy the many preserved buildings from the 1400s and younger. Take time to visit the old wall fortifications where you will be rewarded with fantastic views of the city and lake. Larger than the Zurich old town it has much to offer for... More

Of all the cities I have visited in Europe, Lucerne is in my top three, besides Amsterdam and Krakow. Pleasant locals, business folks, and tourists combine to give the city a friendly but worldly flavor. Easily walkable if you don't mind cobblestones, we strolled often from the Hotel Palace Luzerne along the lake into Old Town to shop, lunch, people... More

Gives a nostalgic feeling of being an old town - with a river front and almost all good brands around to shop and multi cuisine restaurants, u can't ask for any more

Shops, Cafe's, Restaurants and a lovely old world charm can be found wandering around these streets. A great place to while away some time after visiting the Charles Bridge

There are interesting sites on both sides of the river. Don't limit yourself to the Chapel bridge, walk down to the needle dam and the Franciscan church. The free guide at the I center has a map with the top locations and short explanations.
