The Reformation wall is an important part of both Geneva's and Christianity's history, and well worth a visit even if just while enjoying strolling round attractive parts of Geneva. There are 4 main statues, each 5 metres high, of Calvin, Knox, Farel and Beza as well as 6 smaller (3 metre) statues of other Protestant luminaries including Prince William the First of Netherlands and Oliver Cromwell (England).
It is worth reading up a little history before visiting the Monument to get the best value out of it but it is also an attractive place as part of a walking tour of Geneva, while pondering the religious divisions that violently tore Europe apart in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The founding fathers of the Reformation are celebrated along the length of this imposing wall in twice life siize figures. Luther, Calvin and Knox I expected to see. But Cromwell is also there plus others I was not familiar with. The words of the Lords Prayer and a declaration of the Pilgrim Fathers atre incised into the wall in English, French and German langauges.
It is located in the beautiful Parc des Bastions. As yoiu gaze at the wall, the handsome University buildings are behind you. In front, above the wall, it is slightly disconcerting to see the poles of trolleybuses swishing along rue to Croix Guerre.

Paul Landowski is the author of this monument... and of the giant, emblematic Christ of Rio de Janeiro! You may hate the subject and prefer to admire the gardens of Geneva University or climb to the old city. But stop and look: nice beige limestone, four giant statues, a little bit heavy - but you immediately notice one of them: Jean Calvin. A matter of manipulation technique : the reformator of Geneva is put in evidence. This monument is definitely not a great piece of art, but a testimony of past story: nowadays, the majority of Geneva citizen are again catholics!

Situated in a large park, this wall backs up to the original ancient city walls and showcases the leaders of Geneva's most formative years, what made it what it is. For Christians especially, you should go to the Reformation museum FIRST, they have tour radios that come with admission so that you can listen to the exhibits. (They are all written in French) If you go there, you'll understand the importance of the Reformation wall, why the city leaders in the past built the wall (1909), why they wanted to send a message to the future. Nice work Geneva!
Its just an amazing piece of work, you'll love it! Go on a nice sunny day, pick up a pannini on the way and have a picnic in the park.
Also I should mention: If you plan on going to the museums, check out the Geneva pass, you can get at the Geneva tourism center. It allows free admission to that museum -- of course the wall and park are free. Bon voyage :)

I love this place, it symbolises the essence of Geneva. And it is in the beautiful university parc (des Bastions). Also on the square with Dufour statue, opera house and conservatoire, with trams and below Old Town and city walls. Do not miss!

Best location for Photography.
Sit in the Garden nearby and enjoy the view and calmness.
After years of visit this place is still the same. Its walking distance or tram ride away from the Lake.

This wall is beautiful and provides a brief but informative look at the highlights of political and social reforms in Switzerland and parts of the world. You are compelled to learn more. Also beneficial is that it is located next to a lovely park. The downside is that it is not easy to find. Even locals have difficulty telling you where to find it. Ultimately, we used GPS on a phone to get to it.
