Take a walk and enjoy the city

Just walk and enjoy the city and its view over the mountain and the river. The city is alive in the begin of the evening.

Sober and beautiful. As it is not big you can get to know a lot of things just with a half a hour walking. Try going I the main street up to the bridge and you will be exactly in the main curve of the river with its beautiful green water. When you are there try looking down to one... More

Wonderful old town with something unexpected around every corner. The Bear Park was a great lunch spot.

It is beautiful and on the hour the clock chimes and everyone comes to watch. Worth seeing but there are lots of people vying for a photo.

If you visit Bern for one day, a big walk around its Medieval city is an outstanding experience. This is a Unesco World Heritage Site and walking around you can see why. The beautiful clock tower, enchanting medieval streets, cute shops and restaurants in the old buildings .... It can not be more inviting. Feels like you have gone back in time. :)

Berne's city center is largely medieval and has been recognised by UNESCO as a Cultural World Heritage Site. Perhaps its most famous sight is the Zytglogge, an elaborate medieval clock tower with moving puppets.

The old town in Bern is a very cute region of Bern, with old buildings, and small houses that looks similar. It is easy to walk through the region and visit everything in one day. The river is amazing.

Visiting Switzerland without strolling through the old town of Berne would be a shame. Between 'Hauptbahnhof' (main train station) and the 'Bärenpark' (bear pitch), many large and small shops, restaurants and bars welcome visitors and offer everything one could think of. And thanks to the arcades, this shopping pleasure is also highly recommendable should the weather be bad, too!
