    Nice Area to Tour Around
We took a short day trip to Bern from Zurich and walked the old town for a few hours. We enjoyed the buildings and sites, taking pictures of the fountains and statues all around. It is a nice place to take a walkaround.

    wow !
Amazing! Old medieval town, very well preserved. the main street going from Zytglogge to the Barrenpark is stunning! Huge buildings, you wonder how they were able to build them at thise times. If you look down from the bridge near Barrenpark you can see the old houses . I wish we had enough time to get down there and wander through the streets. The clock in Zytglogge offers a small show.

    Medieval Feel & Fountains Everywhere!
Beautifully preserved, old city had a medieval feel and the buildings were exquisite to see. Many beautiful fountains with monuments and people, well preserved and maintained. Take time to meander through the streets and shops especially on market day if you are there on a Saturday!

    Enjoyable stay in Bern
One of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland. Lots of old world character, and the bustling population. Seems to be a mixture of old world, charm, and 21st-century technology.Bern has a very young population and it seems to attract a lot of college students. I found this to be a wonderful blend of old and young enjoying the culture. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are traveling to or through Switzerland.

Insanely beautiful downtown of Switzerland's capital city. No wonder why it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
While planning for my Swiss trip, I wanted to go straight from Zurich to Interlaken, but I realized that the train there goes via Bern, the capital. I knew that Bern was the capital but what was in there? I felt shocked that I almost missed a shining gem such as this old town! It truly deserved its UNESCO World Heritage Site designation because it's just so stunning! So if you're going from Zurich or Geneva to Interlaken and the train stops at Bern, get off the train and explore the city for a few hours! You will not regret it!

    Bern by Wine & Roads
The first sight of any city is always surprising, but in the case of Bern it’s amazing to realise that every image you see is beautiful; it’s simply unparalleled. The capital of Switzerland, whose historic centre was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, is seductive, attractive and absolutely charming; from medieval squares, to contemporary museums, an astronomical clock or a fantastic natural environment, there are many things to see in Bern, a set of medieval streets, totally pedestrian, narrow and winding that delight all tourists who visit Bern and that causes everyone, without exception, to end up surrendered at his feet. Let’s start!

There were loads of stores you could go to! Including vintage and modern. I really liked going around the city and exploring new places. It’s very pretty and has loads of attractions.

Bern is a nice and quiet city. You have so many things to see and take pictures and enjoy. The city centre is protected by Unesco and once you go through it, you understand why.

The Old Town in Bern is UNESCO-listed and, if you take a wander, you can see why. We had a guided walking tour which always helps as you get to learn about the history behind some of the buildings. Lots of lovely architecture, fountains, small streets etc.

Well worth taking a stroll at the very least.
