- Jason SMelbourne, Australia1,680 contributionsIt’s all about the viewThe view is the best in town when it comes to photography for photos of bern. With the height of gardens you get a Birds Eye view of the picturesque city of bern. It’s up a steep hill so take the bus if you have any Mobility issues, if you are going to the bear pit then add roseengarden at the same time so you don’t have to go up hill twice. I thought garden itself was just nice, not spectacular and more of a locals area. But I would visit for the views and photo of. Wen city.Visited December 2022Travelled soloWritten 29 December 2022

The view of Bern old town from the Rosengarten is truly magnificiant. We had dinner in the Rosengarten restaurant while enjoying the view. The next morning, we bought breakfast and came to eat on the bench in the garden and enjoy the view.Visited April 2023Written 2 May 2023
- WilliamWillieWilsonNashville, Tennessee1,370 contributionsOkay garden, but incredible views! After a long hike from the city center to the top of the hill, this rose garden is lovely but a bit underwhelming. A fountain gurgles while some rose bushes bloom. Benches are well shaded by towering trees. A busy cafe sits at the edge of the park. But the garden is simply not on the scale of others around Europe. There aren’t nearly enough flowers and the park isn’t very large compared to many. It’s also grueling walk from the city during the hot summers in Switzerland. However, the sweeping views of Bern and the Aare River are completely worth the effort! It’s the highlight of the rose garden and will allow for great vacation pictures to be taken! Also, walking down the hill from the garden at its southern exit will lead directly to the bear pit, one of the most popular points of interest in Bern.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 July 2023

Rose garden is located at the top of the mountain, close to the bear park. Planted with hundreds of roses, one experiences instant happiness :D.

As the time of setting sun approached we strolled along the ascending path. Panoramic vistas over the cityscape were delightful.
Passing by the monument to famous Albert it was wonderful to see the myriad of autumnal colours.

We visited the gardens as part of our tour of Bern with our group.
It is a beautiful garden that sits on top of the hill high over the city. You get excellent photo opportunities of the city and the beautiful gardens and water features. And there is a park bench with an Einstein statue that gives you the opportunity to be photographed with the genius.
Wish that we had a bit longer to walk the gardens, but we very much enjoyed the time that we had.

We took the tram up to the park. Saw lots of children playing on nice park equipment. There was a free concert going on, dancing, and picnicking. The views back toward old town are amazing!

Great view overlooking Bern. The roses were flowering in June - it was lovely. There's a cafe with a panoramic view and a small bookshop. Definitely worth a hike up the hill if you are visiting Bern.

Hi, I'm visiting Bern on 1st and 2nd of June with my family. How long will it take to see the entire park? Thank you in advance.

Your mom is right ;-) 1-3 hours would be fine, depends on what you will do. If you will have eyes for the flowers, for the view or for the good restaurant. You don't have to walk all the way there uphill. But the walk is nice but also possible to do only downhill. At the train station take bus Nr. 10 direction "Ostermundigen" to bus stop "Rosengarten". It takes around 7 Minutes, and you are there.
The Rosengarten is not big at all.

Подскажите, как добраться на общественном транспорте от вокзала до Rosengarten? И попадаем туда 26 апреля, когда будет дождь. Стоит ли ехать смотреть?

Is end of November a good time to visit the rose garden? We plan to visit Bern for a day and the main attraction is the rose garden. If the flowers not bloom at that time, it would be of no use to visit the town.

Even without the roses the place offers a magnificent view over old town Bern. I would say go there :)

A visita vale também no Outono?

O parque é lindíssimo e vale a pena a visita.
