A beautifully terraced, many-zoned garden with a lot of glorious paths through well-maintained flora. Greenhouses had a broad array of exotics. We visited on a warm, sunny summer afternoon, and the colors and fragrances were glorious—bet it’s spectacular in the Spring! An easy walk across the bridge from the Art Museum and the busy shopping area. Not to be missed!

My husband and I joined a couple friends and walked here from our hotel on a free day before our Tauck Tour. It is accessed by steps down from a bridge.
The botanical park is tiered with a few levels before reaching the river. It seems to also be a favorite swimming spot for locals. We enjoyed the greenhouse and walking amid the plantings. It does have a cute cafe, but we didn’t stop there.
It was quite warm the day we visited, so remember to bring water.
No admission fee and lots to see made it a win.

After visiting the Bear Pit, we found a walk down to the river. At some point we headed up to the Botanical Garden. We missed most of the flowers, but we truly enjoyed the layout of the gardens and walking up and down the hillside while enjoying the beautiful collection of trees, plants, and flowers.

The garden is located at a very nice site along the river. That's the only good thing about this place. The gardens are an overgrown mess. Don't waste your time going there.

The gardens are quite small but beautiful, housing a lovely cafe with very friendly staff and gorgeous views of the river below.

The Place is little far from Railways station but we took the Bus to visit the RosenGarten and entering the Garden was beautiful and amazing. It has park for Kids at entrance but more important is that it has great place / wall to sit and look around the whole city Bern from there and having Restaurant @ Same place. It was very peaceful and Interesting place. There's a sculpture of Albert Einstein who was @ Bern in 1902 (may be) was good cause you can have look @ whole City behind him. There were plenty of roses with different variety. There's a way near Einstein statue that road leads you to ZOO and River AARE.

This nice and quiet jewel close to the heart of the city is the perfect place to stroll around, sit down on the grass for a picnic or just visit the sheer beauti of all the flowers and trees in- and outside the plant houses - and it's totally for free!

We try to visit botanical gardens in any city we visit, and we had to search high and low for this one, which doesn't have ANY signs on the nearby streets to indicate its location. After we found it and looked around, we were laughing that we could understand why. Granted, not much is growing or blooming in early October, but this garden and the greenhouses are rather pathetic. The nearby Rosengarten and even the city center has more flowering and attractive plants.
I won't say it's a waste of time (the river is nice), but if your time is limited then you won't be missing anything if you skip it.

Diverse species were thrown at a hillside without much aesthetic or gardening sense. This garden could have been so much better.
