This church is an attractive building, situated in the older part of the city. It is built in a lovely red sandstone and stands on the banks of the Rhine. It was a Sunday when we visited so there was a service in progress and...More

We were walking around looking for a view of the river. If you go behind this church either through the courtyard or the Northside walking path it leads down a great view of the river. A must see!!

Went there during the faschnacht which filled the area with lanterns. The cathedral is great for taking pictures and the view from the garden is also a worthy experience. A great stop on a tour of Basel

It is located in a lovely area, a special cathedral which was destroyed in an earthquake and rebuilt again. A must see before diving into the old town and shopping street.

The catheral is located along the river and is easily accessible from city centre. The building looks impressive and allows good city view if Basel. Lots of history can be found and it’s a must see if you are in the city.

Built between the 11th and 16th centuries in the Romanesque and Gothic styles, it is characteristic because of its red sandstone architecture and slim twin towers at its sides. It also features a nice cloister.

Worth a visit chiefly for its elevated location over the Rhine. An adjacent terrasse allows for an atmospheric view of the Rhine river.

Yes, its 2 SFR pp. But sometimes they only let a minimum of 4 people go up. Why? Haven't a clue.

Yes, it is free to tour, I didn't climb the tower, but the church and grounds are free.
