A beautiful Basilica with courtyard in a peaceful, inspiring mountain top setting. The Basilica with San Ubaldo's coffin is of interest but the close encounter with the Ceri, their history and purpose is even more interesting. See the short movie about the traditional festival screened in the museum above the gift shop. Definitely worth viewing. The ride up to the... More

Amazing history and architecture. Definitely worthwhile making the time to visit in Gubbio even if you are not Roman Catholic.

A visit to the Basilica is more about the views down over Gubbio and beyond than seeing the Basilica specifically. Once up here you can also walk up to the ruins of the Rocca. It's a stiff climb, but still worthwhile.

We walked up the hill to this church and it was well worth the effort. Gubbio has a lot of tradition and history and is a very interesting place to visit. The church at the top is spectacular. We especially loved lightening a candle which were not real candles but LED when you put in your money the candle lit... More

My husband and I ended up here after taking the "birdcage"/funivia from the old town of Gubbio to the top. The ride to the top (and back down afterwards) was great and we are so glad we did it! The church sits atop Mount Ingino, outside central Gubbio. Unbeknown to us, the body of the patron saint of Gubbio, Saint... More

The trip to the basilica is great fun - the funicular is a standing cage and to ride, one needs to hop into the cage at the bottom and hop out at the top. (the funicular slows down, but does not stop) While ascending the mountain, views of chickens and goats pass by and, at one point, the pine forest... More

The mortal remains of Saint Ubaldo, the Patron Saint of Gubbio can be found in a glass sarcophagus inside the Basilica

Fantastic views on the way up from the "funivia" on the old town of Gubbio. The basilica is very nice and worth spending some time visiting. Don't miss the "ceri", these three 300lbs wood structures that are taken down to the city and brought back to the mountain by teams running all the way up on the feast of St... More

The monastery itself is not particularly spectacular (after all, it is a monastery) but the views are spectacular and the museum (free entry) has some interesting artifacts and a video of the Festa Del Ceri for those of us who aren't there to see it.
