Not something you see every day - that’s for sure. How wonderful to reflect on the sacrificial and all too short of life of St. Frances as you may worship in the same “chapel” as he did 800 years ago. Italy has done such a...More

We popped in for the morning Mass and it's apparent that the faithful are drawn to its quiet dignity and piety. Gorgeous but restrained embellishments add just the right atmosphere to the lively church. To be admired inside and outside.

This is an amazing cathedral that houses the church of Saint Francis inside. It is whereSaint Francis would stay much of his time and also where he died. A beautifully adored church.

This is a gorgeous Church en route to the larger St Francis and St Clare’s Basilicas. With an understated but elegant interior, the attached rose garden is lovely. Legend says the rose thorn cut St Francis so, with remorse, afterwards the rose bloomed with no...More

So interesting to see a church within a church. This church is not much of a draw in and of itself...I guess its big. But the chapel inside that was St. Francis' workplace is cool. And I love that they left it, literally building a...More

The story of St Francis starts here. This is where he lived, worked and died. It is the big Church that surrounds the "baby" church--Porzuincola. It stands alone outside the main city. You can see it across the fields. It is a moving and beautiful...More
