To get to the church, I had to walk a long incline, so I was hoping it would be worth the effort. Upon entering it, I was a bit disappointed after having just come from the amazing Basilica of St. Francis. But as I looked...More

If you have time, do take a look at the (paid) part below the ground. It's not just area for graves, but all of the historical relics. And intact well from Roman era.

There are many areas where the ancient walls of pervious structures are visible under glass. The most interesting was the baptismal font of St Francis and his friend Sister Ciara. The fresco behind it is so strikingly simple and relative to a normal life.

We followed Rick Steves's guidebook for our tour in Assisi and visited San Rufino as part of the walk he recommended and found it very peaceful. It was a rainy day so the sound of the rain from outside enhance the atmosphere inside. Beautiful!

It is very clean inside but very important because of the baptist of Saint Francis, kind of important in the city of Assis
