It is very clean inside but very important because of the baptist of Saint Francis, kind of important in the city of Assis

Another must see in Assisi. A beautiful Romanesque church where Saint Francis was baptized. A must see visit in Assisi.
We visited this Duomo on our Assisi tour. It is a beautiful Church that leaves you feeling the love and history of the time.
There are many important artifacts from St. Francis and St. Clare at this Cathedral as well. There is also a very interesting crypt area that is well worth the price of admission. Plan to spend at least an hour here.
I good visit - and spend the time to sit down and experience the ambience and surrounding. Pity one could not take photos inside.
Rufino is the patron saint of this town, not Francis! If you download Rick Steves' podcast of a Walk Through Assisi, you will discover more interesting facts like this, including some details about this church. It's a simple building; you can see some Roman ruins...More
Visit the church and its beautiful side-wings. Walk to this church from Piazza Matteoti with busstop and parking. Walk through the Via del Torrione. From here you might shoot marvellous photographs of the cathedral belltower and the castle.
Well worth seeing, quite ornate with parts of the floor inlaid with glass so that one can see and appreciate the Roman ruins below.
