This road runs from the Basilica di San Francesco d'Assisi towards Piazza del Comune. It is lined with numerous shops and restaurants all situated within very old buildings. As you stroll this street, you can almost image, as it was in ancient times.

This is a nice walk from St Clare's Basilica to St Francis' Basilica. Lots to see, plenty of shops and a feel for the real Assisi. We enjoyed it very much>

Walking in Assisi is an adventure wherever you go; lots of walking up and down making it difficult for persons with mobility issues. If that is the case, the visitor can take a cab. Public transportation is available but limited. Via San Francesco has lots of shops to purchase quality souvenirs and goods. Great way to break up the challenges... More

As a disabled person with limited mobility it was great to be able to take my time walking down to the Basilica. There are some really nice ceramic shops along here but way out of... More

I walked this from Assisi to Piano Sasso on Mt Subasio. There is a whole series of trails from La Verna to way down south, 350 kilometers long. St. Francis walked a lot of them, as he went from place to place. The trail I took, trail 50 and 60 from Assisi south, was very peaceful and well maintained, with... More

A long path way with plenty handcrafts shops, souvenirs, bars, restaurants and hotels, However it's not just all of this but it's even the magical atmosphere that anyone breathe just... More
