It comes as part of the overall Duomo combined ticket but it is just one room at the lowest level so the atmosphere is not that pleasant and there is not a lot to see compared to the other sections.

One of the most beautiful religious places I've seen. it's more beautiful than the cathedral itself. The full visit of the cathedral complex is worthwhile, but the baptistry, in my opinion was the best part.

If it was not that we had just visited the Siena cathedral which is out of this word I would have rated the baptistery even better, because it is gorgeous, it just happens that the cathedral es even nicer. Still you can not come to Siena and miss this beautiful and interesting building.

From the cathedral, you have to walk down a staircase with a lot of steps. Ornately decorated. Mainly, one large room. A baptismal font stands in the middle with Donatello's work mounted on the base. Quiet must be observed. Only need about 15 - 30 minutes to see (not counting the staircase to reach it). Not crowded.

Lovely paintings on the ceiling. Interesting marble and bronze in the middle of the baptistry. Combined ticket : see my review on Duomo, Biblioteca, crypt.

This was such a lovely ornate building but don't overlook it when visiting the Cathedral. Fabulous font by Donatello, Ghiberti and Jacopo della Querica. Lovely paintings on walls

Part of the ticket for the Cathedral, do visit the Baptistry (entrance at the back). Beautifully decorated, with interesting details.

I missed the baptistry so went back the following day. Its at rhe rear of dumo downthe stairs. Im glad I did as it is wonderful in there. This chamber was used for the whole town back in the olden times. Its amost 600 years old..just beautiful.

When visiting Siena Cathedral, a visit to the adjacent Baptistry really is a 'must'. It is a beautiful building with an absolutely fascinating interior, the highlight of which is the great font which has artwork by some of the most highly acclaimed sculptors of its age. The walls of the baptistry are also inspirational with their intricate murals. The Baptistry... More
