We were impressed with the art and the history. Catherine of Siena has long been a treasured devotional writer and it was good to see her represented here.

Basilica is quite big church. Originally built in 13th century and enlarged until 15th century . Coming to small square to front of it, doesn't reveal its size. Church burnt 1655, but they still rebuilt it with wooden roof. Nowadays you can have led candles,...More

Didn't match up to my expectation. We enjoyed the very hilly stroll to find this place. Found the interior to be cold and dank. A pleasant walk back and a glass of tuscan wine cheered me up.

Wandered in here when arrived in Siena. Lovely church and quiet, cool courtyard to get out of sun or have some peace. Free to get in.

This church is situated in the eastern part of the city and has parking close by. Church has a very ordinary interior.

The nature of a basilica is its relics and this one has the relics of St. Catherine. It also has stained glass windows that are quite new. Worth a visit.
