We visited and had meals at many Piazza's in Rome and Florence prior to visiting Siena. Piazza del Campo was by far the largest. It was also more relaxed than others. No one seemed to be in a hurry.

This place will take your breath away when you first see it. The grandeur of the buildings, the museum and Torre del Mangia, never mind the buzz from the restaurants make this place a must see. You will obviously pay more for drinks in it...More

This is how the Piazza Del Campo is described on Wikipedia and it doesn't disappoint. Would love to return some day to watch the famous Palio di Campo horse race. Surrounded by beautiful buildings and the Palazzo Pubblico. A must see attraction.

This iconic piazza is amazing, very atmospheric and challenges your senses when considering the two horse races around the piazza every summer! This should be on everyone's bucket list!

Is a very big and beautiful square where twice a year they organise something like horse races, it's very gorgeous!!!

Beautiful historic piazza. It was raining when we were there which made it even more magical. We ducked into one of the restaurants for a wine and to enjoy the view.

We made a pit stop in Siena on our way to Montepulciano from Firenze. It was a Saturday and as to be expected there were many people. The nice thing is that the Piazza del Campo is very big and spacious so it didn't feel...More

Great piazza in a different disposition, nice place to just hang out and drink some wine, especially at night with a full moon coming behind the tower.

The nearest airport to Sienna is Florence Italy. The drive from Florence to Sienna is about one hour and a half. If you are driving straight from the airport to Sienna, you do not even have to go into the city of Florence... More

Yes, parking within the ancient city walls can be quite difficult, though you can park outside the walls and walk in. As with most ancient sites, the central city is pretty small and walkable, so you don't need a car. If... More
