We were lucky enough to have two cooking lessons with Francesco and Giulia! We went one week with friends and the next week with family. There were alot of allergies and constraints with diet. Francesca and Giulia took the time to plan the best menu with me for the different groups. Not only was the food outstandingly delicious, but Francesca and Giulia are such welcoming people and excellent teachers. This is not to be missed. I highly recommend anyone in the Siena area to add this to their itinerary. Thank you again for a lovely, yummy experience.

My husband, 2 friends and I decided a cooking class would be an interesting, different kind of evening out... And it ended up being our favorite night in Siena!! We looked into a few schools and hers was by far the most reasonably priced. To be honest, she could charge more... We were there nearly 5 hours, learned to make a 5 course meal (with vegetarian options which was great for me!), ate and drank well, and were entertained by Lella and her translator. I'd do this again in a heartbeat and can't wait to try out the recipes (including my very own hand made pasta) for family and friends! Thanks, Lella!

We arrived in Siena without knowing much about the area. As part of our experience we wanted to take a cooking class and this was definitely the best one to find. Lella has a huge industrial kitchen with lots of space to learn and cook. We were two people in a group of about ten people. Each person had their own preparation space for making pasta and preparing other food for sauce and dessert. The best part of the class was the hands on experience with an Italian teacher Lella. As part of the class Lella provides recipes to take home so you can repeat the experience in your own kitchen. The hands on experience you get definitely allows you to cook at home and impress your friends. Overall, I thought the prices was very reasonable considering how much things cost for Americans in Europe with the exchange rate. We will definitely go back next time were in Siena to learn more about Tuscany cooking.

We had originally signed up for 1 cooking class during our 2 week stay in Siena but enjoyed the first one so much that we signed up for a second class the following week. Each class covered different classic Tuscan recipes and techniques so we learned a broad range of skills and a lot of Tuscan culinary history. Lella was a patient, warm and effective instructor and her sense of humor kept us all engaged during the classes. At the conclusion of each class we had the pleasure of eating our “projects” for dinner accompanied by good local wines and a lot of fascinating conversations with our fellow students. If you are at all interested in the history, traditions and techniques of classic Tuscan cooking, I highly recommend spending 4 delightful hours with Lella, Julie and Francesco.

Who would think a cooking class would be one of the most memorial experiences during our trip to Italy. My wife and I were the only 2 attending the 5/13 morning class. Interpreter (sorry, forgot name) was a sweetheart and knowledgeable. Francesco, knowledgeable, helpful and a "fun" critic. Can't applaud Lella enough for passion and skill, sense of humor and patience. Only disappointment was when she laughingly threatened me with her rolling pin. LOL!! Exceeded expectations. Recommend to all.

Last week we attended a clooking class that lasted close to 4 hours. We watched, listened, and then prepared the food. The finished product was amazing. Lella was very charming and provided great insight into preparing Tuscan food. A truly amazing experience! Highly recommend!

We just returned from this cooking class. It is exactly as advertised and is worth every penny you spend on this. Lella and her assistant/translator (I’m so sorry I can’t recall her name—jet lag is my only excuse) were delightful even though our evening was off to a rocky start when two couples that we were expecting ended up dropping out due to an accident one couple had en route to this event. Lellla never missed a beat. . We learned a great deal, enjoyed wonderful company in the form of our fellow students and our chef and spent nearly 5 hours cooking and eating. WONDERFUL from start to finish!!! DO THIS!!!

4-Course menu, plus additional extras made this very good value. We also ended up the only two in our class with two teachers so the menu was made more complex and tasty. It did use quite a lot of olive oil but when it’s local it’s absolutely delicious! Making the pasta was the best part, authentic and therapeutic and ultimately delicious.

We had the best time at the cooking school! We did the cooking school as a large group for my friend’s birthday and had so much fun. We made pici with fresh tomato sauce, great Tuscan bread soup, herb stuffed pork with roasted potatoes, and panna cotta. Every recipe was carefully walked through by Lella, although the only hands on activity for every participant was making the pici. We ate what we cooked and everything was absolutely delicious. We are going to make the pork and potato dish for Thanksgiving.
Lella is charming and such an engaging cook! I learned so much, the most important being that I’ve probably been burning my garlic all these years.
The school is located at the bottom of the escalator or a super steep street - your choice!!!

My wife and I took a cooking class with Lella and it was one of our favorite experiences of our honeymoon. The space is large and clean and Lella had already prepared many of the ingredients when we arrived. We had so much delicious food starting including pappa pomodoro (soup with tomatoes and bread), fried zucchini flowers, hand-made pici pasta with a pecorino cheese sauce, steak, and a dessert tart - all of which we made ourselves!
The class took 4 hours, but the time flew by and at the end we had an incredible meal! We would highly recommend spending an evening with Lella!

We are planning a 28 day tour of Italy with a couple of days in Siena before heading to Florence. A cooking/eating experience is on my "to do" list, somewhere in Tuscany. Your review is intriguing. Would you mind telling me how you booked this? Did you book it ahead of time or wait til you got to Siena? I would appreciate any information or recommendations you have to make.
Thank you,
Kathy

Dear Kathy,
Thank you for your request and sorry for delate response.
There are no problems for one or more classes cusine but before giving precise answers I should know, please, the answers to these questions:
* When you come to Siena?
* How many people will be doing the cooking class?
* Prefer the morning or afternoon?
We will prepare a typical Tuscan menu from the starter to dessert, including a fresh, handmade pasta. The lesson will conclude with a full lunch of all that was prepared accompanied by an excellent farmhouse wine In order to better follow the lesson, you will receive recipe packets in English
My school is located in the city center, just a short distance from Piazza del Campo, from the Duomo (where there are escalators that lead directly down to the school) and from the Fonti di Fontebranda. It is easily reachable both on foot, and by car. The school is located in Via Fontebranda, 69. When arriving by car, one can leave it at the Santa Caterina parking garage that is located very close to the school. Once you leave the car, you can walk towards the city gate. As soon as you pass through the gate, you will see a small set of stairs on the right that lead up to a small square; in front of you there will be the entrance to the school. In case you have difficulty, please call 3388682801.
Thanks for a kind reply
Kind regards
Lella
