We rented a villa that overlooked the town of San Gimignano. Drove to the town and walked the village several times. While parking can be a challenge (go early if self parking) the town is filled with history that takes you back in time. Wonderful food, shopping and museums will take up the day quickly! The are is quite large... More

The tourist information office will tell you where to find this great model of the town in 1300. We found it interesting but also helpful in planning our walk round the present day town! It is free but worth leaving a donation.

Very nicely presented with a background video about the creation of this large model of the town. Entry is free but donations are encouraged and it's certainly worth putting some euros in the box.

Can't say enough about this historic town! We shopped, had lunch, and saw the sights. Parking is a bit of a challenge, and pricey! Don't purchase anything early in the day as there are numerous versions of every leather, wine, cheese, etc shop.

Great place to visit for a day. Make dinner reservations we found the restaurants booked up quickly. We were able to get in a bit later without a reservation.
