Having spent lots of time in San Gimignano we have wonderedwhat it would have looked like when it had its original number of towers. Here is the answer... a superb clay model 'village' that fills a large room. Fascinating.

Worth a visit! The place is quiet, lots of infos regarding the city in its past. The scale of old times’ San Gimignano is perfectly done, really like it!

We visited this free small museum with the guide from official information office. Definitely recommended. Guide explained to us the 3-D model that was on display along with the town history. Its not in square but in side street. I will also recommend the official guided tour which you can book in information office.

San Gimignano 1300 is a exposition, where you can see a big model of medieval San Gimignano and it is located in the old town, in this wonderful town of Tuscany Region, in the center of Italy. In this place, you see this wonderful model, where there are the towers, the wall, the streets and squares and obviously the normal houses. It is a very interesting and nice place to come with children or obly adults.

What a fabulous day in the walled city. Mass first up and then seat in front of open area where Harvest Mass was Blessed. Italian regions joined by trumpets, flags, dancers. Was amazing day. With great food and cocktail drinks. Very lucky we were there at the time of Festival.

A beautiful small town to lose yourself in just walking around. Es algo cansador la subida si no se esta ágil pero la cumbre vale la pena. Hermosos paisajes de la Toscana.

This exhibit was clearly made with love and historical expertise. Today San Gimignano, said to be Italy's most perfectly preserved medieval hill town, has only 14 of its original 75 family towers built in the 13th and 14th centuries. This exhibit, based on some of the city's oldest records, is a model reconstruction of what the city was like around the year 1300. Just fascinating!

Loved walking around looking at all the neat areas in the town and the church. My favorite part was seeing the small market selling cheeses and meats.

From the road you see the city on the hill top. Looked like something out of a movie.
The city sits up as it was an outpost for Siena. The streets and buildings are in incredible shape. The streets are lined with small shops and restaurants. The main square seems to be the place to hang out and eat a gelato. We spent one hour could have spent another.
