The square itself is big, and really nice. The place is dominated by the main building of the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa University's building. Around it, there are other buildings which belong to universities too, and one church, which is almost always closed. But...More

A nice big square sorely underused, a small number of car boot sale type stalls on a Saturday but nothing else, also beware of vehicles coming from all directions, it's not pedestrians only, Could be so much better with some cafe type stalls.

As this square is not that popular, it attracts less number of tourists which makes this place more picturesque. One can get a nice 360° view of this square. Since there are no coffee shops, or commercial stores around so this place is quiet.

What a beautiful piazza. The buildings are stunning! Was really glad to find this gem. No shade here so if it is stinking hot, consider visiting in the cooler hours of the day.

Well worth a detour. I'm not sure what some reviewers want from a peaceful and lovely square like this? Perhaps they are disappointed that it doesn't have a McDonald's.

Our tourist guide toured us to this square before going to the leaning tower. A very knowledgeable locale guide gave us informations on the buildings on this square; the famous graduates of Scuola Normale di Pisa. Enjoyed every inch of our Pisa tour with this...More
