Overview
More
The Tower of Pisa (180 feet in height) was begun in 1173 and, due to its faulty foundation on unstable soil, leans precariously more than 14 feet out of line, preventing visitors from climbing its 300-plus steps to the top.

Lovely collection of buildings but very touristy . Worth seeing when lit at night - there was noone about. The following morning we approached from the opposite end to the coaches and went early and largely missed the crowds.

I must admit that when I was walking up from the train station in Pisa to see the famous Leaning Tower I fully expected to be a bit disappointed and that it would all be hype. I just couldn't have been any more wrong. It's...More

Great to visit on a 'quiet day', but would hate to think what it would be like at a really busy time. Did not go to the top, but got the usual photos!

Accidental tourists when our plane was diverted to land in Pisa (Florence too windy). Set off to see the Tower, and loved that so many happy people were all in one place, good naturedly taking all the predictable LEANING TOWER snaps. We did too -...More

It's €18 each, and the tickets are bought from the museum opposite. I'd go as early as possible before all the organised partied get here. You can buy the tickets in conjunction with the other 3 buildings on the site... More
