Overview
More
The Tower of Pisa (180 feet in height) was begun in 1173 and, due to its faulty foundation on unstable soil, leans precariously more than 14 feet out of line, preventing visitors from climbing its 300-plus steps to the top.

Just stunning. We didn't tire of the fight of the tower and going inside was so exciting. The odd feeling a climbing a spiral staircase in a leaning tower is something that must be experienced.

The leaning tower is a must to see and worth a climb as it is very weird. The square with the church and the baptistery are all well presented and a great setting. If you get the chance then add it to your itinerary just...More

You see the typical tourist photos all the time and of course we took them too. And looking back at them it almost seems impossible that they are real but they are and the tower is truly magnificent. I did not get to climb it...More

Great to see! But i think once you have been you wont need to return. There is also not a lot in Pisa in general so just be warned one day is more than enough here!

Surely one of the most impressive things to see in Toscana, and one of the Italy symbols. Place was totally overcrowded in August during our visit. Also pretty expensive to enter (18€ only for Tower), while for 8€ you can enter 3 other buildings there...More

Only 50 people are allowed up in 15min intervals, you book a slot at the nearby ticket office. We had to wait 4hrs, which allowed us to explore the rest of the site, which is stunning, and to have a lovely lunch.

We stopped in Pisa just to see the tower on our way to Cinque Terre. We parked in a nearby parking lot, walked to the tower and took several pictures. All told we were there for less than an hour. It would have been nice...More

Pisa is very interesting and much smaller than I expected. It's much more than just the tower. The other buildings in the complex are very interesting also. We had been on a 13 day trip to Italy a few years earlier and Pisa was not...More

Been and seen it, ticked off the list. Was nice to see but a lot of people were there which took away from the experience some what.

I don't think if there a storage place for luggages at the train station. It's a small station.
