This small, private archaeological museum/site is worth seeing if only to support this type of work. The 8 minute film is informative and the mix of Roman, medieval, and renaissance structure is fascinating. It's a nice way to get out of the Tuscan sun, but...More

this is a museum of the remains of a Roman House from 1BC. That's 2016 years ago. It was discovered during a city maintenance project about 15 feet under the street. You enter an old house and from then on everything you see relates back...More

The visit was arranged by our tour. Before lunch, we saw a 10 min video and tour of this historic setting. We had what can best be described as a 'tapas' type lunch in a Roman-style communal banquet. The 11 dishes/drinks were all unique and...More

This is a very small place about 10 feet underground. There really isn't a lot to see and one has to use your imagination but the introductory movie was good and the lady providing the talk was well informed. Apparently a Roman Coin was found...More

Another little gem walking around Lucca. The lady was very knowledgeable about the history of the house & Lucca, spoke very good English as well. It is followed by a short film, and all for 3Euros- bargain !!

The visit starts with an 8 minute film ( in Italian with English subtitles). We were then given a tour of the site (where the remains of a Roman house was discovered) by one of the staff at the Domus. She was engaged, interested, enthusiastic...More

Had to join my small tour group late. Was given a place to rest before re-joining the group. Generous samples of "what the Romans ate" were simple and delicious!

We were eager to see some more of the Roman heritage of Lucca - we have a special interest in Roman architecture. We went there at 3 pm, when the site was supposed to open, and rang the doorbell - nothing. We waited for a...More
