We rented bikes and rode them on top of the walls of the city of Lucca. It is beautiful up there, very wide and flat with trees lining many parts, also beautiful views of the city below and beyond. Very peaceful and we wished we...More

We enjoyed renting bikes and circling the perimeter of the old city. We also walked along the wall listening to the Roger Waters concert. The air is cooler than in the old city and the trees provide shade.

During a 3 week visit to Lucca I tried to walk Le Mura as often as possible. Early mornings were my favorite time. It affords wonderful views of the city and the area beyond the the wall.

Look down on city as you ride 2 miles plus around it. Road is as wide as a highway with photo opd all round. You can rent bikes reasonably all around and take a ramp into city in many places.

The walls are really well maintained and the perfect place for a relaxing walk. Overall the walk is around 4 km but there are several entrances/exits back to the town so you can tailor your walk. The ground is not uneven and there are lots...More

At least 2 bike hire places located close to the entry/exit points of the wall. Easy to spot in such a small town.
