I am so happy i decided to stop by Lucca on our Tuscany trip. So quaint and beautiful. Read a bit of history before walking on top of the walls. You won't be disappointed.

I love Lucca, and one reason why is because of this beautiful walk along its city walls. The view of the city from the walls is unmissable from every angle. You see sights of Lucca that you would otherwise miss. It is an easy walk...More

We enjoyed cycling around the city walks today getting wonderful views of architecture and local historic points of interest. A really good way to see things at a pleasant pace too.

The old city walls were planted with trees and created an app. 5 km long green walking path around the historic town center. Lucca is a short train ride from Pisa, absolutely worth going.

You can leave your car outside the walls or take right after entering Porta Elisa. Both are paid parking for around 1-2 euros/hour. From there you can walk, ride the bike, run, anything you do is relaxing.

At least 2 bike hire places located close to the entry/exit points of the wall. Easy to spot in such a small town.
