Whether you walk or cycle around the walls you will get a real feel for the scale and attractions of Lucca. Some of the underground areas are also worth dropping down for a view.

Great way to see Lucca - the walls go all the way round the city and are bustling with people walking, cycling and jogging.

Beautiful walk around the lovely Lucca, about 1hr to walk around or 20 mins or so with bike hire. Seems very popular with the locals as a way to keep fit as many cyclist and joggers

Walk the wall is a great daily activity. Lucca is proud of their wall and should be. No cars just walkers, bikers, and runners. Very safe and very friendly. Stop on the wall to enjoy the view.

We spent a few hours on rental bikes going round the walls both directions and then went in and out of Lucca when we had our bearings. Beautiful way to see the city and the beautiful surrounding mountains.

The ancient wall around Lucca is a wide, wooded, beautiful path for bike riding, strolling, running and enjoying the gorgeous weather. There is a restaurant on it that is quite good too.

We hired a four seater bicycle and enjoyed a relaxed cycle around Lucca from a higher vantage point. Lovely to see the city from this view and the entire pathway was not crowded nor strewn with rubbish. Clean, mostly flat with places to stop for...More

Dont know what I liked the better, the views, the ability to just walk and people watch, being able to ride the bike without traffic. It is the perfect place to take a walk, which we did twice a day. Don't miss it!

At least 2 bike hire places located close to the entry/exit points of the wall. Easy to spot in such a small town.
