Lucca's old town is a fantastic experience and definitely unique. It has a distinctly medieval atmosphere with its small streets and alleys, charming squares and many beautiful churches. Add to that the incredibly impressive 4.2 kilometer long wall that surrounds the old city and you have an experience you won't forget. Inside the walls you will find many unforgettable attractions such as the churches of San Martino and San Michele in Foro with their special Pisa-Romanesque style, unique squares such as Piazza dell' Anfiteatro and famous medieval towers. It goes without saying that there are also nice restaurants and trattorias on every street corner to further enhance the experience of being a part of history.

Lucca is a great medieval town, one of the most beautiful and interesting I have ever visited. With its remarkable Romanesque churches, the wall, its narrow streets and the amphitheater now turned into a square with restaurants, it was definitely worth a visit.
