Very disappointed to find the Cathedral closed, as were all the churches I tried to visit when in the port on a cruise for the day. Would have like to have a look around inside. Its not really that impressive from the outside.

Note the clock tower

Cathedral of Livorno (Duomo) has a triple-tiered bell tower and four classical columns as well as a very special clock on the exterior. Inside is a bishops’s throne dating to 1573.

Looked nice from the outside but due to our cruise choice of ports and times when we arrived the cathedral was closed so cannot comment on the inside(so sorry).

MAJESTIC PLACE. GREAT SUNDAY MASS !!!

Livorno Cathedral is centrally located. If you are Catholic and looking for a nice church to attend a Mass, that is a place just for that. The Cathedral has fantastic acoustics and beautiful interior. It was heavily damaged during the Second World War by Germans. In fact, many historical sites and buildings have been damaged heavily or totally destroyed by Germans during that war. What a shame and not that long ago !!!

Chatedral on the main square. Chatedral itself has usually architecture for churches in Italy. It is nothing special

The Cathedral was closed during our visit as part of cruise. We walked around it and it looked interesting but not impressive.
It was disappointing as there is lack of things to do in Livorno.

Livorno's Lofty Cathedral

Walking the streets of Livorno on Easter Sunday, we arrived at the Cathedral where a service was still in progress. Going in, we stood at the back and listened to the Mass, joining in some of the hymns which are universal for Easter both in the Catholic and Anglican churches.

Impressive, but could use a touch up.

This cathedral is a stunning one, but it's old and has had a tough time especially dive WWII. I think like much of Livorno it could use a going over to make it look nicer. Right now the place is in a slump because the environment is reflected of how people feel inside and that feeling is kind of who cares at the moment so if there is garbage all over. Who cares..? Too bad, it's s really nice old cathedral and the architecture and artist work is great.
