Beautiful art by Raphael, Van Dyke, Titian, Ruebans, Lippi and others. Jam packed into absolutely ornate rooms. I took more photos of the ceiling in this palace than any other place. Each room i cooler than the next. However you may go into art overload if you are not a die hard art history buff. Defintely a great visit and... More

My husband and I spent a couples day walking around the Pitti. Enjoyed the grounds and ran into one of our friends there. Wonderful grounds and a must see.

A large selection of artworks housed within a nicely decorated Renaissance Palace. A little bit overcrowded with paintings which seem jumbled at times. Sizeable collection of work by Raphael and some minor works by other Renaissance greats. Well worth a visit but not a must do.

We saw Ai Weiwei here and the price wasn't too expensive. Good displays and the building is worth looking at too, when not looking at the art.

The sheer amount of art, culture, beauty, and wealth on display here will leave most people at a loss for words. Indeed, I can barely wrap my mind around the art treasures that I saw during my visit.

The Palatine Gallery and Royal Apartments are essentially a single continuous visit. The walls and ceilings are decorated with amazing frescoes and crown moulding. The paintings of the masters pop up at every turn including numerous works by Raphael and Titian, paintings by Van Dyke, Caravaggio, and Rubens. All of the rooms in the Palatine Gallery and Royal Apartments are... More

We bought tickets for the gardens, but have been told that the palace is also filled with wonderful works of art. The gardens are beautiful even when not in bloom. Just means I will need to come again in late spring. Lots of great views looking back at the city and when you reach the rose garden at the top.

When these gardens were first opened they must have been lovely. The classic layout, the statuary and stone work are all magnificent but now it is all tired, the hedges are moth eaten and in need of pruning and grubbing out. Please restore this gem

This palace is the location of many museum that gather masterpieces of art (Raphael, Titien, Philippo Lippi) from the Medicis family and then the Habsburg. The palace itself is impressive by its wonderful decoration. But it is very expensive !!! Compared to palaces in France for instance.

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
