I went to Vecchio Conventino in October, during their monthly event “Lungoungiorno+Fierucola,” a craft fair dedicated to promoting organic products and hosting workshops on ancient handicraft techniques.
I found a fascinating place that used to be a convent and now several artisans work there and use the space as thier workshops.
During the event, I got to try a workshop in clay, which both interesting and fun. Then we had lunch in the cafeteria where I tasted a delicious cake made by one of the “fierucolanti” in the cloister. I bought some very nice earrings from a shop called the “FLR Crafts Showroom.” I highly reccommend going there, you can purchase crafts and souveniers unlike anywhere else, and you can be sure that they are all handmade by the traditional artisans of Florence. I had such a unique experience, I dont think I could have found anything like it anywhere else!
