This small market consists mostly of leather (and faux-leather) goods.
It's main feature is, though, the lovely building in which the market is housed.

An open air market place with an abundance of leather goods along with materials, souveniers etc. Very small spaces in the rows and can get very crowded. The quality of the goods are better than flea market value but not top line. Picked up a very nicely made scarf and saw a number of leather items worthy. There are so many stalls, its hard to work out who to buy from. Pick the first.

This market is right in the middle of everything downtown we stopped and shopped but a few Florence scarves grab the pig and got a gelato nearby you have to stop by if you’re in the area and this is a cool market with pretty decent deals

16th century covered market is touristic for sure, but sometimes you need some light relief. Make sure to stroke the Porcellino, the bronze boar whose snout is polished to gleaming gold. Touching it supposedly guarantees your return to the city

Rubbing the boar's nose has become something of a tradition. This one is a copy - the original is elsewhere apparently. I was told it means you will return to Florence, but other source say it is for good fortune. The statue stands in front of a large covered leather market - belts, bags and other goods such as T-shirts, as well as souvenirs. The headline prices on the bags are dropped significantly as soon as you look interested so worth a haggle if you want a nice Italian leather bag.

Shop for something you love - the leather values were numerous! We walked the market first then went back to negotiate for what we really wanted.

When you are wandering around the streets you will probably walk past it. Stop and have a look but that’s it. A Florence tick in the box of things you have seen.

Most of the stalls sell leather goods
You can barter or to a larger leather market near Mercato central
There is a bronze wild boar in the market. It seems if you touch it dribbles water - folk law says that if you stroke it you will return to Florence

This is a small market area with mainly leather bags and jackets. There’s a boar statue at the end of the market where you can put a coin in to see if it falls in the right way.
