Cool historic tower that you can see while walking alongside the river Arno. Sadly it was closed for tourists, but it still looks good.

Very cool and old watchtower from the Roman Empire. Very nice to see how it has survived and kept outside the historic center.

There is tons of construction around the tower so you can’t climb up. No way to get any good photos as well given the fences. Skip until the work is over.

You can see this ancient tower along the Arno River below the Michaelangelo Piazza. It was sealed off for a movie shoot during our visit to Florence.

Tower was built in the 14th century as a part of the defensive walls of the city, which was demolished in the 19th century during the urban renewal of Florence. It was spared due to the panoramic views it offers all over the city and as a reminder on medieval history of Florence.

This structure really stood out if you are descending from Piazzale Michelangelo. It was first erected in 1324 and is formerly the defensive walls of Florence. There are 160 steps to the submit and it definitely offers you a different angle or perspective on how one views Florence.

If you are visiting Piazzale Michelangelo, you will likely see this Torre from the terraces. It looked interesting enough to walk to on my way out.

It's open only between June and September, from 5 to 8 pm and is definitely worth the visit.
You get to know the history of the Florence walls built in the Middle Ages and have the chance to make beautiful photographs of Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio.
Only children older than 8 are admitted as the steps are quite difficult to climb.
No toilet or bar, but visit is only 30 minutes long.

The Torre di San Niccolo is located across the Arno River on Piazza Poggi. If you climb to the top you get nice views of the city.
