The Church of the Santissima Annunziata is worth seeing. The interior is beautiful and there is plenty of art. I especially enjoyed seeing the frescoes on the walls. The golden ceiling was decorated between 1664 and 1670 to a design by Baldasarre Franceschini, known as Volterrano. There are several sculptures that are also very good.

At the Northeastern side of the piazza lies this gem. The piazza is out of the way, at the end ov Via de Servi, with only one small hotel and sandwich shop on one corner. This is a local church, a medium size cathedral that has many wonderful chapels lining the aisles, with frescoes and statuary. As in most churches... More

The Basilica of the Annunciation is my favorite church. I accidentally visited with my friends and we were amazed by this ancient beauty, introduced in church. Most remarkable are the frescoes that decorate the walls, made to narrate the life of the Virgin The church is very rich of decorations. For me the most striking is the beautiful baroque decoration... More

This is absolutely my favorite church in Firenze. Many years ago I lived on Via della Pergola and this was my parish church. I remember being invited to a parish dinner and meeting the Mayor of Firenze!!!

A brilliant church. It is well used by locals for services, prayers and confessions. We attended a mass here and although it was in Italian (obviously) we could follow everything.

We stopped in here because Lorenzo Medici left an ex voto here after he survived an assassination attempt. Also, the fresco of Mary (behind the alter) traditionally was thought to be painted by an angel. But the church is not well maintained and is very dark; the Piazza della SS Annunziata is filthy and is not populated by Florence's finest.... More

Lesser known Church and away from the main piazza's this is a lovely church and worth visiting for the ancient art typically florence and dating back. The outside square is a little plain compared to others but it is less crowded.

The ancient church is an example of the forentine art. The piazza and the "Ospedale" frame the renaissance enviroment of this Piazza Annunziata
