This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

About 20 mins steep walk from the bridge to the top. Get there about 45 mins before sunset as the place is heaving for this time. We went midweek so might be even busier on a weekend. Most other reviews advise to sit on the...More

Lovely view of Florence. The gelato festival being held at the time was excellent. Hard to take photos at sunset due to inconsiderrate people three deep at all the best photo points.

Take the hop on hop off bus and get off here and see the replica of michael angelo's david. Late afternoon visit is recommended and enjoy the sunset, music and art and souvenir shopping.

A nice walk, if you can stomach the short climb. Better viewed this way than via a coach drop-off. The views are lovely. Wasn't too crowded when we were there (early Sep 2016).

It is a must if you are in Florence. The piazzale is pretty big and offers views from different perspectives. It can be pretty crowded though. For a calmer experience I'd recommend walking 5 minutes up to Basilica San Miniato al Monte. Just do both.

Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale
Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by

up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic
viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an
elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and
breathtaking view of the entire city from above.
