This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

Amazing full panoramic views across the city and round towards the hills and valleys dotted with stunning architectural mansions. Was at its best at sunset - the glow was like a super HD postcard.

Visited on our last morning with little time to spare so we took a taxi to the top. The views were spectacular. The walk down was very quick and faster than a taxi.

It’s a bit of a walk out of the city centre but totally worth it. Quite a pull up to the piazza too! Great views over a stunningly beautiful city.

This is definitely worth a visit. It is up a steep hill and about 150 steps up (I may have counted) but once you get to the top the views of Florence are outstanding. On a clear day you can see for miles and it...More

We took public bus #12 up to the piazza from the Firenze SMN train station, only 1.20 euro, on a beautiful clear evening and were dropped off right at the square. It was very crowded but beautiful. A great memory! By the way, it's a...More

This is the spot from which almost every panoramic view of Firenze is taken. The "David" is a repro as is the one in the Piazza della Signoria. Lots of 'souvenir' vendors. But your're there for the view and it is worth a half hour/45...More

Piazzale Michelangelo offers beautiful views of the city. Too bad the place is marred with tourist-trap crappy gift sellers and one of the times we were there, a really loud musician who was making us weep far more than his guitar. Must stop point though...More

We were on the piazza by 4 pm and it was a good time to take pictures. It was still very crowded as people were still taking photos. We were there until 4:45-5 pm then it got dark. Gorgeous pictures around that time and... More
