After what seemed to take hours for my friend and I to find this place, we walked in the front door and were completely underwhelmed. It may be called Tobasco but it was no where near hot! We got there after midnight, there would have been about 20 people in the place with only 4 on the dance floor! At one stage they played Copocabana by Barry Manilow, then no word of a lie about 20 minutes later they played it again!! We used this as our cue to leave!

I was at this bar for an event and I was first pleased to see a gay bar that was so different from the rest of the "Clean" looking bars in Florence. I then I saw that I was given a drink card and a threat that I would be charged 50 euro if I lost it. Its free to enter but not to leave (extremely wrong and unconventional). Its either a 10 or 15 euro cover charge and the drinks are 8. The lady bartender is nice but cannot make a drink to save her life. The worst part about everything was that its not a gay bar. Its a sleasy straight bar now with gay bar written outside. There is a dance floor with smoking and the men's bathrooms were disgusting (a hole in the ground). The + side is that its an interesting cavernous space. The music is descent but the beats get old fast, especially when the DJ doesn't change anything for 15 minutes. There are few people that even dance. I wouldn't go there if you were looking for a gay bar or a good time.

A tradition has come to an end... The owner, after a police raid, decided to bet on young hetero crowd.. Tabasco is no longer a gay bar, they keep up appearances to squeeze money from the odd gay tourist, but locals have moved on... Consequence of non- gay management or a sign of time...?! Anyhow, skip it and go somewhere else..
