We enjoyed our tour of the Uffizi museum. Our guide, Katia, was very knowledgeable and also very patient since we had two very young children and a handicap in our group. The fact that it was a private tour made it more enjoyable and we were able to ask questions, which would have been impossible with larger groups. We learned... More

Our family of 5 took a wonderful 2 day private tour with our lovely tour guide Joanna. I can not say enough about Joanna! Her knowledge is outstanding. She was very engaging with our three children aged 11, 14, and 16. Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the rich history of this amazing city. I would recommend Joanna, and Freya's Florence... More

Freya's tour set us up for a great day in Florence! Our driver was a lot of fun and was very knowledgeable of the area making our drive from the dock to Florence a pleasure. Our guide was awesome working with my 12 year old to find ways to connect and make our tour fun. She also working with my... More

We were traveling with two kids age 13 & 11 and the tour was fabulous! We got to see everything we had hoped to see, and then a lot more. It also was a great history lesson for the kids and well the parents too. Highly recommend Freya!

We have done many kids tours but this was by far the best. Sara was knowledgeable, of course, but mostly, she held our kids attention and they learned some things! She was engaging and enthusiastic. There were other (grown up) visitors at the museum who were so enthralled by Sara, they tried to jump in! My 11 and 8 year... More

Loved our day with Freya!! She made Florence the highlight of Italy for us:) Be sure to do the museums with her. She explains the nuance of the paintings beautifully to those of us who are not art scholars.

Our tour guide Sashia was very knowledgable. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Accademia to see the wondrous statute of Michelangelo's David. We followed this by going to Il Borro near Santa Trinita for delicious wine and yummy appetizers. The sommelier, Fabio was fantastic. I highly recommend this tour!

We used her company once to do a Food Tour. The young lady (Karin I think) did an excellent job. First she took us to a bakery shop where we got pastries and learned the correct way to order coffee in Italy. She explained the different types of tripe (popular in Florence) and for those who were interested arranged a... More

Sara was our guide for a three hour tour of the Uffizi for my family. Sara was so great. We all learned so much about art and history. Both my 12 and 10 year old boys loved it and that says a lot. We saw about 20 art works and learned a tremendous amount in an interesting way.

We took two tours with Sara and they were the highlight of our week in Florence. Sara is knowledgeable and passionate about Florence, its history and its art. You will gain a greater appreciation for this wonderful city by taking a tour with Freya's.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
