I fell in love with Centro Storico Florence. It's the cleanest city I have ever seen; there are no cars and shopping is as plentiful as the great works of art, restaurants and small street food cafes. Oh and the gelato. Dare I say the...More

Full disclosure: we did not have a good time in Florence. One of us was getting sick; the other was tired. Florence (after the countrysides of Tuscany and Umbria) was hot, noisy, smelly, crowded, and hard to get around in even on foot. We cut...More

Just walking around this part of the city is entertaining enough. If you did nothing else but spent the afternoon strolling around the old city center you will have experienced Florence and had a memorable time.

You can't come to Florence and not visit the historical center. Wander the little streets and take it all in.

Even though always crowded and with some sites (as the Duomo) lacking care, the historic quarter of Firenze still has lots of Pallazzi and Museums that are worth seeing and visiting.

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city
