- Ramikat351 contributionswe visited on a cold day . . .We went here on a sunny but cold and windy day in late February. There actually were some flowering bushes, bulb flowers and pansies. The grounds people were getting the island garden ready. I'm sure this is beautiful in warmer weather!Visited February 2023Written 18 March 2023
- Carrie WSarnia, Canada221 contributionsOkay garden, better for the views of Florence and the valley behind. It is a nice park and we walked around for about an hour. It is on a hill behind the Pitti Palace. There is a good view of Florence that makes it worthwhile. The garden terrace at the very top was nice and had good views of the valley. Should not cost 10e.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 April 2023
- kbtbsbbbOklahoma City, Oklahoma103 contributionsNice outside time in FlorencePretty garden paths and sculptures along the way. There are also flowers at the Lemon House gardens. There is a lot of walking so bring water. This is something to do if you have extra time and enjoy outdoor walks in "clean woodlands".Visited April 2023Written 16 May 2023
- KaswizHelsinki, Finland119 contributionsNice garden, steep slopesThe garden is a vast area and really, really beautiful. It is built mostly on a hill, so bring a bottle of water and good shoes. The gravel slopes are so steep that I would not recommend this to the eldest of the family. Inside the garden you can find many interesting details such as the Mostaccini fountain or Buontalenti Grotto (closed for renovation in June 23). There’s also a designated picnic area, but otherwise the grass is mostly off limits.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 June 2023
- CabKingsTampa, Florida518 contributionsnice park, some nice views but overall it was okBig beautiful gardens behind putti palace in Florence. Bought tickets online in advance, got the email confirming ticket. Walk to patti palace and to ticket area on right side of building from palace entrance. Show email confirmation and they print out your tickets no more than 15 minutes in advance of your scheduled time for arrival. Go through metal detector and then into gardens. Decent climb up to top of gardens if guest are older or have disability. Large area to see and cover ( over 5 miles i walked) it is nice and views of florence are nice but it is not wonderfully maintained imho.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 June 2023
- WanderingOttersonsDenver, Colorado1,377 contributionsLarge and hilly gardens with good city viewsGreat gardens with lots to see. They’re surprisingly large and very hilly. Maybe don’t come here when is above 90 degrees as it’s not quite nice on those days. We chose not to do the palace, but you can get tickets into the garden at the same place and same entrance. The price for just the garden is a little steep.....as are the rocky paths on a hot day. I’m not 100% sure you can get in if you do but a good picnic or a little wine and cheese might be a good option here? We enjoyed the walk despite the hot temperatures.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 July 2023
- Alison KLodi, New Jersey888 contributionsSpacious garden with hidden pathsBought a combo ticket including the Pitti Palace. It was nice to see the vastness of the garden after seeing the extravagance of inside the palace. It is steeper than it looks to walk up the hill. Grass was green and well kept, but not too many flowers when we went in mid May. There were some birds in the fountain at the top. We walked from here to the Bardini gardens, which was also included in the ticket. On the way up, there was a place to get a pretty good view of the city.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 July 2023
- Lindsay B1 contributionDisappointing and should be free — was like walking around someone’s palatially sized and dilapidated backyardThe Boboli Gardens experience was really disappointing. The only reason I didn’t give it a 1 or a 0 was because it did have a nice grassy knoll with a gorgeous sculpture or two. But walking around the skeleton of an old palatial garden, turning on gravel pathways and through overgrown boxwood bushes was not at all worth any money. Should be free unless they actually use it as a garden and add some real botanical life. Maybe there are restrictions given its historical prevalence, but then it should be free. The place has the potential to be Butchart Gardens but it’s more like walking around someone’s palatially sized dilapidated backyard.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 July 2023

Zero color, nothing in bloom Lemon house closed and would not waste a single second here Unless you have ABSOLUTELY nothing else to see in Florence I would avoid unless in spring or perhaps fall. Really couldn’t get out to there fast enoughVisited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 6 September 2023
- Jimpy524Auckland, New Zealand8 contributionsSadly rundown, potentially awesome.Don’t waste time visiting the Boboli gardens! After visiting the Pitti Palace, which was the highlight of our Italian trip so far, we excitedly ventured out to the second part of the visit, the Boboli Gardens, expecting similar grandeur. Instead we were saddened to find an awful, dusty, ill kept mess of a garden. Clearly this could be one of the most beautiful gardens in the world if anyone room are of it. Such a shame and outrageous that they are charging money to enter. Stick to the Pitti Palace instead which was simply amazing!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 September 2023

Okay to see if you like walks in massive parks but I wouldn't go there again. I'd rather go to the piazzale Michelangelo and the gardens next to it again.
I mainly went to Boboli gardens see the Buontalenti's Grotto that is mentioned in Dan Brown book but it was quite a disappointment. At the moment you can't even enter the grotto itself, but from looking through the gate it's not really worth it. The statues are not in the best shape, very deteriorated look... The Vassari's corridor is currently under reconstruction so that also spoiled the look. The view from the Gentleman's pavilion was very nice, but the Pavilion itself is an abandoned building with paint faded, shutters closed...
I read the other reviews on here and was unsure what to expect. I'm glad I didn't pay the full 'summer' pricetag for this as I don't think it's worth it at all. I got the 18€ cumulative ticket that included Uffizi, Pitti palace and these gardens so was ok (this is the winter price for admission)

Only come here if you have already visited all the other key attractions. Then this is a nice to come (on a dry day, there is nowhere to hide from rain) and spend some quiet time. We would have preferred some more colour in the gardens but maybe it was just the wrong time of year. It is surprising large and easy to spend a couple of hours meandering.

I rate the activity low based on the value for the money and weak guidance inside the gardens. I’ll start by taking the blame for having the wrong expectations to start with. This is not a garden of colorful, flowering plants. It is a park, set on estate grounds that the wealthy owners would walk around in and look over from their huge home. The view of the city was spectacular . The experience could have been better with descriptive signs/ displays, labels on what little flora was present, and a guide map that could be carried, not just the positioned on permanent map boards. While I do appreciate the history and significance of this estate to Florence’s past and culture, €13 a person to climb really steep paths and stairs to look at dried up, untended grape vines was too much.

The weather was extremely hot, and the garden gave us enough to shelter while strolling through this beautiful garden on the hill opposite the river, offering also a beautiful view on the city centre.

The gardens are very nice but be prepared for lots of walking up some fairly steep inclines. Wear appropriate footwear. There are a few drinking fountains to get water, but don't drink the water in the restrooms, it's non-potable, and has a warning sign. You will do a lot of walking here!

Paid €16 each to obtain prepaid tickets to avoid the queue. The gardens were ok. Nice vistas across Firenze. A lot of the garden was a bit untidy eg the Neptune fountain had weeds growing around and out of statue in the middle of the fountain, some of the paths needed upgrading, there was a lot that had been let go and needed maintenance.
All in all a nice walk up and down the hill but I question the cost of the privilege of walking through.

This visit was included in the museum pass and included entry to Pitti Palazzo.
The area is vast and coming out of Pitti it is steep. The views are good at the top, plenty of benches or areas to sit.
The gardens contains lots of walkways, shaded by arched trees and gravel paths. There are many statues throughout the gardens.
It’s more of a rustic place than gardens but there are some lovely parts within, for example the pond area.
If time short I probably wouldn’t recommend, but good for a hour or two. Just don’t expect Kew Gardens!

Get your comfortable shows ready!! Lots of hills and stairs in this one!
Not the most well kept garden, lota of greenery but not many topiaries and different tupe of flora. Beautiful view of Florence since the gardens are located on a hill.

The garden was very disappointing, hardly no flowers or living plants. Only dead grass and some bushes.
The view was nice, but there are cheaper ways to enjoy a nice view!

The name ‘Boboli Gardens’ is deceiving. This attraction is really just a really large (& expensive) park, and consists of mainly grass, trees, and a few statues in between. No flowers (all dead) or interesting arrangements. The place appears unkept with weeds growing out of what maybe used to be garden patches once upon a time. The fountain water was dirty and stagnant.
It’s no my worth your money, time, or effort (it takes a bit of effort to walk around, as there are a few uphill paths). My recommendation would be to skip this.

No, io non ho prenotato.
Ho pagato direttamente in biglietteria.
