Our classes are offered as a view into a typical Tuscan cuisine. Classes are small and intimate.

First step: grocery shopping at the central market!! You will go shopping with the chef at the central market picking up the ingredients for your lunch. You will meet the butchers, the bakers, and the farmers selling vegetables from their gardens. You will learn how to distinguish the highest quality ingredients and as an added bonus, how to bargain! You will taste local foods & wines.

After this fun experience you will reach the house and start the lessons in a private kitchen. A true hands-on experience, and you will prepare your own meal, made of Bruschetta, Fresh Home-made Pasta, and a main course, accompanied with a selection of Chianti wines. As you will eat your own food, you’d better be an attentive student while the Chef is teaching!

Started off exploring the central market with our Guide and Chef, Giuseppe Manfre. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained all the Italian cuisine in great detail. There were 13 of us in the class and we all enjoyed the experience of making fresh pasta from scratch, Bruschetta, Tiramisu (the Italians call: Pick me up Soup) Cherry Tomato Sauce and Meat... More

A fun day spent making pasta, bolognese sauce and delicious cherry tomato sauce. Cheese tasting, balsamic truffle oil olive tapenade and wine - what's not to like. Giuseppe was our host good fun, friendly and passionate about food .

The chef was extremely helpful and bed yummy. We made some amazing dishes, pasta, tiramisu and appetizers. They were extremely accommodating to me (being vegetarian), they made sure there was an extra pasta dish I could have without meat. We had a nice group size of 5 which was perfect for the hands on activity. Highly recommend for all ages.

My wife and I were disappointed when our scheduled cooking class in Lucca was cancelled at the last minute. However, when we arrived in Florence, our hotel had a brochure for Wanna be Italiano and we got the last 2 spots for the next day. What a find! We arrived to find an all-American class with our 2 instructors. The... More

Giuseppe and Paola were amazing hosts from the trip to the market to food preparation and made this a fun and successful event for our entire family. They taught us some new techniques which we will use to make perfect pasta when we get home. We laughed and learned and met new people. Five stars all the way. I wish... More

My daughters & I had this experience planned. When we got there, they offered us an upgrade to the VIP tour at a discounted price. I was well worth it! It was a small group, 7 of us total, mothers and daughter. Chef Alex was so much fun. The trip to the farmers market and meat market was awesome. It... More

Did this tour with my college-age daughter and 18 others. It was a bit of a walk from meeting place to central market, but learned a bit there and cooking school was just a block away. Our chefs, Ilda and Alain, we're very informative, patient and funny. They made a point to keep the two young teen boys involved, which... More

Chef Paula and Chef Jesepi were the best! Great fun, great food, and great instructors! This trip was chocked full of laughter and we learned much more than expected. Made me want to go to culinary school.

My sister and I have been traveling throughout Europe for three weeks and the food we made in this cooking class was by far the best meal we ate. There is a guided tour through the market before heading to the class. Everything was delicious and easy to make! We were even served some small dishes and wine while we... More
