My husband and I went on both the Twilight and Wine Time tours and both were absolutely incredible! The convenience of starting and ending in Florence made it very easy and we were able to see beautiful Tuscany without needing to rent a car. The dinner on the Twilight tour was amazing, the food and the wine kept coming out... More

We wanted to see part of the Tuscan countryside and taste some of its wine. Coming from a different country we felt it would be easier to get someone who knew the wine business and area to organise it. Our tour was only 8, two wine tastings which were in depth , plenty of wine, and well presented by Matteo... More

We taxied to Tuscany in a bottle from the foothills of Fiesole early am! We were greeted by Aso with a warm and friendly welcome within minutes of our arrival! Eight of my dear family boarded her vehicle and were on our way to shear pleasure! What beautiful country we traveled through! She asked us about ourselves and our wine... More

My husband and I were recommended this tour from some friends who raved about the wine tour and the lunch provided and we are so glad we booked the same. The day was one of our favorites during our time in Italy. We were with a small group and Bernardo was a wonderful guide driving the countryside roads and was... More

Wonderful tour- well worth the price of admission! Highlight of our first trip to Florence. Our tour included pasta factory- very informative and fun, winery and olive mill. Each location has professional and friendly staff that were passionate about their jobs. Highly recommend! small group size is ideal.

The tour route was really beautiful! The places we visited were lovely and the wines were great. The lunch we had was truly delicious too. However I do have a few comments: 1) They took us to wineries, however none of them were working at that time, so it was a bit pointless. 2) The tour guide was a little... More

Being from the wine area of California, we wanted to understand the Chianti region. But not from the perspective of the big producers. From the view and passion of the independent winemaker. This tour (the Twilight Tour) was just the ticket. We left the Grape Tours offices after an great introduction and tasting with Matteo (our guide). We even bought... More

We actually visited in September 2015 but I have not had a chance to review. What a fantastic tour! We opted for the tour that included a stop at the butcher and what an experience it was. The food was fantastic and the wine was out of the world and loved learning more about the process. The olive oil tasting... More

After searching online for numerous wine tours in Florence, we eventually decided to go with the highly raved Grape Tours for our Chianti wine tour. Our host and driver Matteo was very fluent in English and knows his wine very well. We visited two wine cellars - one more commercial and the other boutique - and had great wine in... More

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
